Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:00):
Welcome to the Evangelism Podcast. I’m Daniel King and I’m excited about telling people about Jesus. Today I have a very special guest with me, Gola Tiruneh from Indonesia.

(00:13):
Now, you were actually born in Ethiopia.

(00:16):
That’s right.

(00:17):
And then you came to Canada, became a Canadian citizen at a young age, and now you are living in Indonesia. Tell me about that journey. How’d you end up here?

Gola Tiruneh (00:29):
Well, yes. I was born in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. I left there at a young age. My family has always traveled mainly for my father’s work. And so we ended up in India for a couple of years. It was about 10 years old at the time, and soon after, two years after that, my family decided to move to Canada mainly for education. And I just completed grade eight at the time. And I arrived in Montreal, Canada and had to learn French so I can continue with my grade nine. So I did grade nine in French and grade 10, 11, 12 finished in Ontario. So my family is in Ottawa, the capital of Canada. That’s where I spent most of my time. And

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:32):
Let’s talk about Indonesia. How did you end up coming here to the nation of Indonesia?

Gola Tiruneh (01:39):
Well, it started during my high school years. The Lord started speaking to me through many different ways, through people would point me out of a crowd and start to prophesy over me going to these places, preaching to thousands of people. And that used to scare me actually, when I used to get those kind of words. And then the Lord would speak to me through dreams and visions and I would see myself in front of Asians, people doing ministry. And so it was a process for the Lord to kind of help me along. I did have a desire for missions, but at the same time I also had this fear in me of going so far from family. Indonesia is quite far from Canada. It’s literally the other side of the world. So I remember when I made the decision to go to Indonesia, my family was not for it, majority of my family. And even I was a little bit not sure what was going to happen. I wanted to go to Ethiopia to do missions, but I ended up to Indonesia in 2004 through a Bible school that I went to in Canada, in St. Catherine’s area near Niagara Falls. And ended up here in October, 2004, about 20 years ago now. And within a few months I loved Indonesia. It’s just everything turned out to be totally different than what it was in my mind and ended up staying here and doing.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (03:27):
Now you met your wife Esther, here in Indonesia. She’s Indonesia. And how long have you been married now? We’ve

Gola Tiruneh (03:34):
Been married for 14 years.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (03:36):
And your son Benjamin? Yes. Is 10 years old. Is 10

Gola Tiruneh (03:40):
Years old.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (03:40):
And so how did God bring you and your wife Esther together?

Gola Tiruneh (03:44):
Well, we met in a church, the church that my team was working with when we first came to Indonesia. And she was also involved in her church. She was a full-time ministry in the church. And so we always bumped to each other. And she was also one of the translators for guests that come to speak. So she translated for me a couple of times and that’s how we met. And six years later we got married.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (04:17):
And tell me a little bit about your wife’s journey. How did she become a believer?

Gola Tiruneh (04:21):
Well, my wife Esther is from a Buddhist background, and she was saved during the Christmas service in her church. Somebody invited her and it was a long process for her also, but she made a decision to be a believer in her teams also during her teams. And then she joined the church. She’s been working in our church since, and that’s what we ended up meeting.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (04:54):
Indonesia is a very unique nation, 270 million people. It’s the fourth largest nation in the world by population, and it’s the largest Muslim majority nation on earth, even bigger than Pakistan or Saudi Arabia. When people think of Muslim nations, they often think of that part of the world, but Indonesia actually has more Muslims than any other nation. And it’s a nation of islands over 17,000 different islands. That’s right. And so your ministry here, you’ve gone to many different islands to talk about

Gola Tiruneh (05:34):
Jesus. Yes. So we do a few things here in Indonesia. We do crusades, we call ’em festivals, festival of love. And we’ve done those different parts of Indonesia. They’re set up to reach people outside the church in a very friendly way. And we just focus on preaching the gospel very simple and pray for the sick, expect miracles to happen in these events. We have seen wonderful things that God has done, miracles such as deaf ears opening and people that couldn’t walk and being able to walk. And that brings a great awareness of the gospel in an area. And we have had Christians and non-Christians come into our events and to hear the gospel and to experience miracles. So a lot of what I’ve been doing is sowing seeds into areas, unreached areas. I love to go to unreached tribes. That’s another thing that we are doing in Indonesia currently, actually, we’re in the process of researching about 40 unreached tribes. And we are also formulating a strategy through partners to friends here and also overseas to reach these tribes. And so I spend a lot of my time in doing these crusades in villages at small towns and also working with these tribes. We also have a discipleship ministry that we are doing on a weekly basis in our hometown in Sumatra. And also through our pastor seminars, we encourage local believers to go out and evangelize.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (07:40):
And so this is real cutting edge ministry because you’re going into tribes that may have zero believers in the entire tribe. Exactly. And you are getting to know them, asking questions. It’s actually very valuable research so that people can know where the most need is. Right.

Gola Tiruneh (08:05):
So that’s my hope, number one, to create an awareness about these tribes. Most of them are very small, maybe like a couple of thousand people in a few villages. So they’re kind of hard to reach. Sometimes it takes days and you have to get on a boat and then get on a motorcycle, go trek into the jungle. But it’s the work that needs to be done. And my heart is eventually to train a local missionaries that will go there and be a witness to them in some form. And we are in the process of doing that. And also we hope it will create an awareness so that maybe there will be other people that will send missionaries there eventually, and so that the gospel can reach to each and every person.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (09:09):
Now in the Bible it says that every tribe and language, every ethnic group will be represented before the throne room in heaven. And so that’s why this type of ministry is so important because if they’re going to be in heaven, they need to hear the gospel. And if we don’t know who has heard the gospel, who hasn’t heard the gospel, we need to ask questions to find out who are the people that we’re missing that we want to take to heaven with us.

Gola Tiruneh (09:44):
That’s true, that’s true. And sometimes you got to go there to see what’s happening, especially these areas where there’s no believers, there’s no churches. Somebody needs to be there and live among the people and have some kind of a gospel representation. You may not be able to preach the gospel right away, but just having someone there will create opportunities for the gospel to be heard of. And my heart is, especially these tribes that are completely a hundred percent nonbelievers, at least we’ll get one or two families and then it will start to kind of snowball from there. And the best thing I have found in my experiences, Indonesians, reaching Indonesians is way more effective than us coming, for example, me coming from Canada. And they know the culture and they also know how to talk to these people. And that’s my heart right now is to raise local people and to motivate local believers to be missionaries.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (11:09):
And so one of your desires is even to start a training school That’s right. For people that would from Indonesia come to be trained in how to reach different people groups.

Gola Tiruneh (11:20):
Exactly. Yeah. Well, in Indonesia, the work of the evangelist and the missionaries kind of always the last thing on people’s thoughts. Many believers that want to go into ministry want to be pastors, which is great, but it’s mostly done in Christian areas. So there’s a lot of church planting happening, but in Christian areas, and it’s kind of hard for missionaries to go to these places because number one, they don’t know what to do

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (11:58):
And they stick out.

Gola Tiruneh (11:59):
They stick out. There’s also, of course, the financial thing. So we are trying encourage and motivate people to work in these kind of remote areas. And by God’s grace, we are finding people that have a heart for that. And we are already starting to partner with local people to reach some of these tribes. I’m visiting now.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (12:25):
Yeah, last night we were eating dinner with a local evangelists, and there was one woman there who said she just came back from a village. She lived there for three days and 35 people. She was having Bible studies with them and very primitive. Then she’s sleeping on the floor and no electricity, no plumbing. So it’s difficult ministry, but it’s extremely valuable

Gola Tiruneh (12:51):
Very much.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (12:52):
Now, several times you’ve mentioned the gospel preaching the simple gospel, and you’ve seen God work through that. Give me the gospel in a nutshell. What is the gospel that you preach?

Gola Tiruneh (13:07):
Well, the gospel is the good news of what God has done for us through the Lord Jesus Christ. And it’s actually the finished work of what Jesus has accomplished through his death, through his life is death, resurrection. And it is the story of how God redeemed mankind. So it is a simple but powerful story and we just focus in our events to, we don’t so much talk about religious stuff, we don’t compare religions, we don’t do any of that. We just simply speak about what Jesus has done for all people. And we encourage people also to experience this gospel. It’s not gospel of just words, but it’s an action. It’s in power. So I love the book of Acts and some of the things that the disciples did. And so what we try to do is in our events for we help people to experience how good God is through miracles.

(14:21):
And so there’s a scripture that says, come taste and see how good the Lord is. So let people have a taste of how good our God is and what he has done for us and how powerful it is. And especially, we always have miracle testimonies that we try to bring up interview people during our events and so that people will see that God is actually doing something. This is not just a story from 2000 years back, but this is happening now. And that brings an impact to the village or a small town or even the churches in that area. It would encourage them to believe and to continue to do the work that way.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (15:12):
So right now we are in the city of Kupong, and tonight the gospel festival begins. We went by to look at it last night, and it’s this beautiful plaza area right next to the ocean. And there were lots of vendors out there selling food even before the festival begins. There’s lots of people there, lots of kids running around. They had games and toys for the kids. And so what are you expecting to see God do here in Kupong this week?

Gola Tiruneh (15:44):
Well, I believe there is going to be through what is going to happen. People are going to have a clear representation of what the gospel is. And I’m believing for miracles. I’m believing for people to experience miracles that will lead to ’em opening their hearts to the gospel. So we’ve had events where deaf ears have opened people deaf from birth and things like that. And that causes people to attention, to put their attention to the gospel. It is kind of like the story of when Philip went to Samaria and preached the gospel and says, when people saw the miracles, they put attention to his words. And that’s what I’m expecting, that they will be a moment where people will realize, okay, this is real. Jesus is real, and what is my response to this? And so by the end of those three nights, my prayer is that people will realize, okay, this is not just religion. This is actually happening now and I need to respond to this.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (17:06):
Now, one of the things as an evangelist I think we’re called to do is to challenge the church as a whole to focus on evangelism. What response have you seen from the churches here in Indonesia? Do they have a heart to reach out to the loss? How are you encouraging them to focus on people who are

Gola Tiruneh (17:33):
Lost? Well, it is mixed response, right? So it is a challenge sometimes working with believers because of some history of maybe things that have happened in the past. And there’s a little bit of fear, hesitation to do evangelism. So most believers tend to just stick to their group or to their churches or their communities. There’s a few tribes in Indonesia that were reached by missionaries like 150 years ago. So they’re mainly Christian. So most of the believers in Indonesia are from this few tribes that are

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (18:23):
Been, but there’s many tribes here.

Gola Tiruneh (18:24):
There’s many tribes, and it’s from the 217 million, maybe 15 to 20% is Christian, so the rest of them are still yet to be reached. So it’s hard for believers at times because of may be fear or they don’t know what to do or how to approach other nonbelievers. So our festivals actually in a way help that to show them, okay, this is how you do it, or let’s do it together, and kind of helps build confidence in them to go out and do more outreaches. So really, our festivals are always been done in partnership with local churches, and that helps also to bring in enthusiasm, especially when they see, when the Christians see the miracles. Also there’s something that happens and say, wait, we can do this too. We can also preach the gospel. So that’s what we hope will happen also through these events, that it will revive the church and inspire the church to do evangelism in that area.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (19:39):
Well, it’s absolutely amazing the work that you and your wife Esther are doing here in Indonesia. If you’re listening and you have a heart for Indonesia, I’d encourage you to get connected with Gola. If someone would like to support you or their church would like to adopt you as one of their missionaries, what’s your website? How can they find out more information about you?

Gola Tiruneh (20:03):
We do have a website. Our ministry is a registered charity in Canada. It’s called Global Good News Initiative. The website is gg.org, gg ni.org, and you can go there and you find all the information you need, and you can be a partner through our charity in Canada. Yeah,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (20:29):
And are there opportunities for people to come to Indonesia to do evangelism or to work with you?

Gola Tiruneh (20:36):
Yes. Yeah. We always welcome people that have a heart for Indonesia, and we can do what we can and what is possible for us to do so that we can open doors also for people. So I’ve worked with different ministries in the past and we’ve had, yeah, we had a good experience also partnering with people.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (21:05):
That’s awesome. Well, let’s finish by praying for Indonesia, but instead of praying in English, you’ll pray in Indonesia, and let’s just pray for God to bless this nation.

Gola Tiruneh (21:21):
Okay, let’s do that. Alright. Hallelujah. Han Sadia, Indonesia, then Indonesia, they are. And Jesus sai. Amen.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (22:44):
Amen. Well, thank you Gola so much for being on the Evangelism Podcast. Yes,

Gola Tiruneh (22:49):
Thank you for having me. God bless you. Thank you.

Daniel King interviews missionary James Obeng from Ghana, who is currently serving in Guinea. James shares how he became a missionary after receiving a prophecy about serving in a French-speaking country. Despite not knowing French, he learned the language and started doing evangelism and ministry work. James faced challenges in communicating with the locals but found ways to overcome them, such as using translation tools and working with a young boy who could translate for him. He also established a church in Guinea.  James credits his spiritual father, Evangelist Dag Heward-Mills, for inspiring him in his missionary and evangelistic endeavors. He learned from Dag Heward-Mills’ teachings about patience and perseverance in ministry. James also shares how he supports his ministry through various entrepreneurial activities, such as selling perfumes, farming, and baking bread. Additionally, he talks about his journey to finding a wife and how God led him to a Guinean woman named Fatima. Despite initial resistance, James followed God’s leading and proposed to her. The episode concludes with Daniel expressing his admiration for James’ faith and the impact he believes James will make as a missionary.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (00:00):

Welcome to the Evangelism Podcast. I’m Daniel King and I’m excited about telling people about Jesus. Today I have a very special guest, James Obeng. Yes. Did I say that right? Correct. From the nation of Ghana. Exactly. And we are actually in Guinea right now. And you have come from Ghana to Guinea as a missionary, and it’s a big mission field. I mean, Ghana, you go from an English speaking country to a French speaking country. Exactly. From a country that is majority Christian, to a country that is majority Muslim. Muslim, yes. And very different culture here. Yes. And so how did you become a missionary?

Missionary James Obeng  (00:46):

Wow, thank you. First of all, I became a missionary. By one day I was in school. That was when I completed junior high school. In the year 2006. We were youth and we used to go for prayers. So one day we went for prayer and the leader who was leading, he was a prophet and he gave me a prophecy that he sees me in a French speaking country. By then, I received the prophecy bets. I didn’t take it.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (01:21):

And at that time you didn’t speak any French?

Missionary James Obeng  (01:23):

I didn’t speak throughout my life. I didn’t go to any French school. So by then I never knew any French. And even when I got here, it was in Guinea here, I started learning French by the grace of God. Wow. So when I received the prophecy, it kept on three times. So we finished secondary by the grace of God. And when I finished secondary, I used to move in the church. I was by the grace of, I was the leader for the youth. So I did the little that I could in the church. And when I completed the secondary school, I got the chance to go to university. So in university too, we used to go to every Christmas we used to go to the villages to go and preach and stay there whilst our parents would be calling us, oh, come home, let us celebrate the Christmas together.

(02:12):

But we stayed in the villages and we used to win soul for Christ. So from there I was a member of Church of Pentecost. Since my childhood, that was where my mother sent me. So I grew up in the Church of Pentecost by James McKeon. So when I completed university and I came to the capital city, that’s Accra. I didn’t know which church to attend the area where I was staying. There were a lot of churches there. So I prayed to God one morning that, oh God, I want to go to church, but I don’t know where to attend. Lead me to where you want me to be. And lo and behold, I attended one of evangelist Dag Heward-Mills church, which is Morning Star Cathedral headed by Bishop Ka Bidden. So when I entered the first day, they had a meeting after church service to teach people how to go out and win souls and how to do something for God.

(03:10):

And it was something that always motivated me to do something for the Lord. So after the meeting the following week, I went back to the church and prophet called out for people who have completed university and who feel that there’s the call of God upon their lives. And I was someone who used to be shy. Anytime I see crowd, I didn’t want to push or go there. But I don’t know what happened. I found myself in front of the church and we were about 30 something people, if I 30 something people who went forward. And among all these people, prophet asked me whether I’m interested to come and work at the church as a receptionist. And I said, Hey. And we just finished university and we were posted to different places to go and do our national service. And it wasn’t possible. There were, it wasn’t possible to get transfer from where you were posted to come back to Accra, the capacity to come and do the service.

(04:13):

So when he told me, I said, oh, this one is very difficult. And he said, well, pray about it and start doing something because I felt that I want you to work with us here. So when I went back to the my station, I went to see the director for the health service, and the director to lo and behold, was a member of this same church, Morningstar. So went after explaining everything to her, she said, okay, if that’s the case, I’ll help you with a letter for release. And with that letter go to the National Service Headquarters and present that letter to them and they will see what they can do and by the great. So when I went there, everything went on smoothly and I was transferred from the town where I was doing my service back to Accra. So a month later, prophet told me that I should prepare.

(05:00):

I’ll be going for missions. And I said, if missions I love do evangelism, and when I see people coming to Christ, there’s this joy that comes to my heart. And Bishop Dag Heward-Mills has been some, anytime I see his crusade, the way people are crying, lifting up their hands, coming to Christ, there’s this burning, I don’t know how to explain it in ways, but I feel this desire and this hunger to also win. So for the Lord. So when he asked me to prepare, I said, okay, I will. So I started praying six months later, he said, it’s time. But initially he didn’t tell me the place where I’ll be going. He said, James, prepare. I think you’ll have to go to Guinea. I said, Guinea, I never knew the language that Guinea speaks, whether it’s a French or so. I went online and I checked, I said it French, and I’m someone who likes French. I’ve never studied French in my life. And that’s

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (05:53):

What the prophecy came earlier, that you would go to a

Missionary James Obeng  (05:55):

French nation. Exactly. And it was exactly 10 years. When the professor came in the year 2006, and I completed university in the year 2017, and it was in 2017 that the professor started manifesting the grace of God. When he told me that, I started remembering, I say, oh, if that’s the case, I was afraid initially I say, I don’t have any French background, so how am I going to do this machine work? But I believed in that prophecy and I kept it in my heart and I wrote it in my diary. So I remember the prophecy and I said, oh God, if you are the one me working here, because the church had over 5,000 Sundays, over 5,000 people go to the church. So out of this 5,000, I was new. I was new in the church. The prophet didn’t know. My parents didn’t know me from anywhere, and he called me to work at the reception.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (06:52):

So how long have you been here in Guinea now?

Missionary James Obeng  (06:55):

I’ve been here for five years now by the grace of God.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (06:58):

And what were some of the challenges that you faced initially, and what have you seen God do while you’ve been here?

Missionary James Obeng  (07:06):

Initially when I came because of the French barrier, I had my phone. So when I want to talk to people, I pick up my phone, I go to translate Google, I’ll see the thing, the words in English, and the Google will translate it into French. Then I couldn’t read the French, so I gave it to the people around those who can read. Or sometimes I click on it, then the audio will play. So there was a name they called me, the pastor who uses his food to translate. That was in Wow. And it was a little challenging for me to communicate with people, but lo and behold, I got this. God brought this young guy who was 11 years old, he used to attend English school. So the mother went to see the mother through evangelism, and the mother said, oh, I can take the boy.

(07:54):

So wherever I used to go to the evangelism, I was with this boy, this boy will translate it in their local dilate. That was gey. So he was the one I used to move with and go told me that whatever he wants me to do, I should continue to do. I shouldn’t look at the barrier, which is the language. That’s the reason why the boy and everything, the thing is I have to have the desire and I have to do what he asked me to do. And through that, by the grace, I started picking it, picking it small, small. And there was this thing to that helped me. My senior pastor, who is Reverend Wanda, asked me to do something, not just come in without working on anything. So I brought some things from Ghana, and when I go out, I used to force to speak the French, communicate with them in the French language. So that was what helped me initially to start forcing with the French language, one by one, one by one, and also with the aid of the Google translator. So that’s where I started picking the French.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (08:51):

And so now you’ve established a church here? Yes. You planted a church? Yes. About how many people would come on a typical Sunday morning?

Missionary James Obeng  (09:01):

By the grace of God, our largest attendant has been 96.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (09:06):

Okay.

Missionary James Obeng  (09:07):

We had a program called SW Sunday. It’s a program that my spiritual father, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills has been organizing, and we followed one day. So all the members, we told them, I try and invite someone to church because I realized that most of the people come with the mindsets of coming to receive their healing, the miracles and breakthrough. And after that, they go back to the world. Initially, that was the challenge that I encountered. Here, we’ll go out after preaching. Oh, God has been healing a lot of people. So when they heard that, oh, God is healing people in this church, they will come.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (09:46):

Wow.

Missionary James Obeng  (09:48):

A day on that

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (09:49):

Sunday, you’ve seen lots of miracles.

Missionary James Obeng  (09:50):

Exactly. So when they receive the miracles and they go home, and by the grace of God has been healing, a lot of people, God has been so after that, they refuse to come back to church. When you encounter, oh, I came to receive my healing, or I came to receive a miracle. So I’m a Catholic, I’m a Protestant, so I’ve gone back to my church. Meanwhile, they’ll be in the house, not going to church. So that was the challenge. And also for now, we are in our forties by the grace of God, and there’s a challenge here. Most of the people, those who are committed, they try to move from this city, go to a different place, look for money. They have a mining place called Sigrid, and also manna. So the youth who used to help committed a time will come and they be moving. So those are, the attendance have been fluctuating that by the grace of God for now we are in our forties.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (10:45):

So let’s talk about your spiritual father, Dag Heward-Mills. Exactly. He is an evangelist. He’s a great evangelist from Africa, from the country of Ghana, and he’s very well known all over Africa. He’s been having huge meetings, just as big a meetings as any American evangelist who would come. And people in Africa love Bishop Dag Heward-Mills. And so tell me some of what you have learned being under his ministry about being a missionary, about being an evangelist.

Missionary James Obeng  (11:20):

Okay, thank you. Evangelist Dag Heward-Mills has been someone who has been inspiring me a lot. I came into contact with the evangelist. That was in the year 2011. One of my colleagues in secondary school came to visit, and when he came, I was in the process praying and studying, and he told me that there is one man of God called evangelist that you were nurse. And he was in a university by then. I was in my first year in the university. And he said, oh, I would like to share some of his messages and his books with you. And I said, okay. So he shared some of his audios, preaches, and some books with me. And the message that touched me a lot was a message title, the word of my patience. And the evangelist thought on how God called people and how he, after speaking or giving them the prophecy, how it takes the duration, the way for us, it seems that it has delayed.

(12:29):

So the long time it takes before the prophecy come to pass. So I listened to how he spoke about Abraham and the promise God gave to Abraham. He said, you are the father of all nations, many nations. And it took 25 years for this promise to come to pass. He spoke about Jacob when Jacob was leaving his father’s house, when he had an issue with his brother and was going to his uncle. And the way it took long time over 20 years before he saw the prophecies and the promise of Welcom coming to pass, he spoke about David, how God told David that I have anointed you to be a king, and still he has to fight with soul. So the challenges that they went through. And he said, when God calls you, you have to be patient, to be frank. I dunno how to explain, but this message touched me.

(13:18):

And I used to always listen to that message. When I’m going wherever I’m going, I used to have a e piece and I had a Nokia phone, so the Nokia phone will be in my pocket when I’m sleeping, I listen to that message and it has been a message that I cannot forget. And I always encourage those that I meet. And by the grace of God, I’m trained that anytime God speaks to you or you receive a prophecy, be patient with God, do not rush. When you rush, you’ll be making a mistake and always believe in the way that God has spoken over your life. And also, I saw some of his crusades. It was my first time swinging some of his crusades. I used to see the crusades of evangelists, Han Bonky and bein and other men who got bes. It was my first time I saw the crusade by evangelist dark gold mills and how people were crying the way he has the zeal, the hunger.

(14:17):

He said he, no matter nowhere is far for the gospel to reach. So that because of that, no matter what it takes, he try to sacrifice, make sure the gospel go. And also he wants all the villages. He said, the men of God go to the big, big cities, but there are towns and villages where people cannot afford to go or to hear the gospel. So no matter where you are, the gospel must reach you. And it was, we have to go to those places, we have to go to them. He said, those people, every town and village, every town and villages, we have to be there. And they said, Jesus went to the towns and villages so we don’t have to be in the towns only, but in the villages to reach the poor. Because he came to preach the gospel to the needy and the needy people, most of them are the poor people. So as we preach to them and they come to Christ, there’s this joy. I watch one video and I realized how they were Muslims and how it was in Covo, how the people were crying, weeping, and in fact, I couldn’t stand. I also started crying and I said, God, give me this grace. I want to reach out no matter where they are, to go and preach to them. And that’s how I started.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (15:31):

It takes great faith to be a missionary. Yes. Did anyone support you when you were starting to be a missionary? Were there churches or individuals that helped to support you? How do you support your ministry? At least in the beginning?

Missionary James Obeng  (15:47):

Okay. When I came initially, it was a bishop, Bishop, prophet Rabin. He’s the bishop for the address of Kadesh Kosh. So he used to send us support and other thing. But when I came, he told us that to be a missionary and to survive, you must try and do something on your own.

(16:12):

So whatever you can do, try and do it on your own to survive. And that’s something that the evangelist has been encouraging us with. That wherever you go, do not put it at the back of your mind that, oh, people have to support me. And when it happens that you try and rely on the people instead of putting your faith in God in order. God is the one who has sent you there. So whatever that we can do. And he used the way he said Abraham was a missionary. Abraham moved to different nations, and as he went, he was working to survive.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (16:48):

And so what have you done to work to survive?

Missionary James Obeng  (16:51):

Okay, thank you. I used to, initially I was selling perfumes and other things from Ghana. I realized that Guinea loves things from Ghana. So I started with perfumes and some mosquito repellent cream, some clothes, long sleeves. So I used to sell them in farm. And when I came here to, I realized it was not working here. So I started by farming. And also I started, what’s the name? Baking bread, doing some juice. Wow. So for now

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (17:25):

It And are you still doing that now?

Missionary James Obeng  (17:26):

Yeah, the bread. I still doing the bread that

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (17:29):

Wow. Yes. Now God has given you a great blessing while you’ve been here. Yes. You met a girl and you asked her to marry you. And so now God has brought you together and she’s beside you. Tell me, what is her name?

Missionary James Obeng  (17:46):

Her name is Fatima ob.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (17:49):

Okay. And she’s a beautiful young lady. Yes. And tell me about how you met her and how you asked her to marry you. Okay.

Missionary James Obeng  (17:59):

When I was coming, initially I was single. So it was in 2020, I went back to Ghana and my senior pastor James, it’s not good for you to be single on a mission field. And I was someone who was afraid to propose to a lady why? I didn’t want to give my word a promise and fill the person. So it was very challenging for me to propose to a lady. So when they told me, I said, okay, I’ll pray about it. And there was this lady when I was in Ghana, she used to come and help me at the reception. When I’m busy, I’ll ask her to sit at the reception and help me. So when I came, when I went back to Ghana, I proposed to her and she had said, I said, let’s pray to go so that the will of God will come to pass. So when I came back in 2020 and we were still doing courtship and doing marry school, but it got to a time, I realized the lady was afraid deep in her heart, he was afraid to come for missions because she used to hear about,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (19:02):

This was a girl from Ghana?

Missionary James Obeng  (19:03):

Yes. This was a girl from Ghana. And she used to hear about how missionaries suffer the way their wives still suffer, the challenges. And sometimes when I’m

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (19:12):

Talking, and she didn’t want to suffer,

Missionary James Obeng  (19:14):

She didn’t want to suffer. Sometimes when I’m talking with her and I tell her about the challenges that I’m going through, she becomes discouraged in terms of finances and other things. So when it happened, I told our bishop that, oh, to be frank, the lady is trying to pull back. And she said, okay, if that’s the case, we should separate. And when we separated, to be frank, it was very difficult for me because I wanted to get married. And also I realized being a missionary and single wasn’t easy. So I prayed to God and my mind was always in Ghana that I wanted to get a Ghanaian woman. My senior pastor in Zel, Corey told me that, James, I think you have to get a woman here. I said, rev, no Guinea. I don’t want marry in Guinea. Our bishop in Corner Creek also mentioned, I said, my mind was fixed and I wanted a Ghanaian woman.

(20:07):

So one day our bishop came to Guinea for mission to come and visit us. And when he came, he called me one day and he said, James, do you mind marrying a Guinean woman? I said, Bishop, as a Guinean, it has been a fight. I don’t want to marry here. I want to marry from Ghana. He said, well, you have to pray about it. So as I was praying, it’s like God made me go blind the same way I dam slipped. My mind was fixed. And I realized that was my challenge. My mind was fixed to marry a Ghanaian woman. So one day I prayed a certain prayer. There was this friend of mine who asked me. He said, God told him to inform that I should first and pray for three days, drive first. And then it was my first time and my prayer was, father, let your will be done in my life and everything that I do.

(20:56):

And after that prayers, three days later, a bishop called me and told me about this marriage stuff. And I said, oh God, I don’t want to marry from Guinea, but if it’s your world, that job will be done. I want to hear your word, and I want a word from, because I don’t want to make a mistake. I’ve had challenges of marriages because of that, I have trusted you and I have put my faith in you that I don’t want to make a mistake. So one day I was praying and I received a from God. And I said, okay. I wrote a Rima, what both told me concerning my marriage, concerning this lady. I receive an assurance. And there was these friends that I pray with, Rima, took him from their prophecy, came from them, James, you’re going to get married, but you have to be flexible.

(21:40):

I said, Hey, flexible. Okay. So one day I had a dream. After that four days, the fourth day I had a dream and I realized that’s my bishop who came from Ghana, one of my spiritual fellow. He gave me a gift. And that gift, I didn’t see the gift, but I was very excited. And I went back to him. I said, oh, Bishop, thank you very much for this gift. To be frank, I’m blessed. This gift has transformed my life. So after that, in the morning when I woke up and I was praying, I received within my heart, the gift that you need is the suggestion that the bishop has given you, has given you, if you will take it, it’ll become a blessing. That’s the marriage. So I said, wow, three. The first one was the assurance from me. The second one was from the prophet that I pray with, and the third one was the dream. And I said, okay, if that’s the case, father later will be done. I don’t want to fix or be rigid and refuse to flow with you, that here will be done. So that was where I got in touch with the lady. We started chatting and I realized that the chemicals, the connections started,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (22:50):

The chemistry was good. The

Missionary James Obeng  (22:51):

Chemistry. The chemistry was good. So I took a risk and I went to Corner Creek to go and visit her. And it was my longest journey ever in my life, moving from here to Corner Creek. And the car goes forward on the road, and I said, this risk that I’m taking to go and see a woman, that the prophecy came back, that oh, become and be patient. And when I go there, to be frank, I was very excited to meet her. I felt this peace and this joy and meeting this lady, I chatted with her. And that was where I proposed Wow, the grace of God.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King  (23:30):

And so God brought you together. And I believe that God’s hand is on the two of you together. Exactly. And you’re going to make a big impact. I’m so impressed with your faith coming as a missionary and what God is doing through you. And I think God has many more amazing miracles to do in your life. Amen, brother James, thank you for being on the Evangelism Podcast. I appreciate it. Thank you

Missionary James Obeng  (23:55):

Very much. I’m so honored to be here and to be with you. God bless you so much. Bless you. Amen.

In this episode of the Evangelism Podcast, Daniel King interviews Manop Moonsri from Thailand about the International Gospel Music Festival. Manop explains that the festival started in 2014 and aims to reach young people in Thailand and other countries through music. The festival takes place in shopping malls, attracting a broad audience, including those who may not attend traditional evangelistic crusades. Manop believes that music is a powerful tool for reaching young people because almost everyone listens to music. We talk about the opportunities and restrictions in different countries, such as Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:00):
Welcome to the Evangelism Podcast. I’m Daniel King and I’m excited about telling people about Jesus. Today I have a very special guest with me, Manop from Thailand. Thank you for joining the Evangelism Podcast.

Manop (00:12):
Yeah, and it’s good to be on your TV program.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:20):
We are in the nation of Cambodia right now. Yesterday we were in Laos, and then a few days ago we were in Thailand. And in each place we are doing a international gospel music festival, which is a vision that God has given you to help reach people for Jesus. So tell me a little bit, what is the International Gospel Music Festival?

Manop (00:47):
Yeah. International Gospel Music Festival started in Ette in 2014, but before that I already do a lot of music festival with different name. But then in puke I invite more bands from international, from different countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, America, and NAMI Beer and a few other countries. So from Pke, I felt that this is a good method to reach out to the people in Thailand and other countries and the location that we choose with the Pke or in Bangkok or in Chiang Mai or in other places we use shopping mall because in the shopping mall there are many groups of people come to shopping. And the target, I mean of course the main target are the young generation. And I feel that with different bands and different messages can reach out to a broad group of people that some of them doesn’t go to the traditional kind of crusade or evangelistic crusade, but for the music festival, they are okay to listen and then to participate.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:08):
And so I really like this strategy. You’re taking the music festival into the mall, which is an attraction point for the entire city. Everyone knows where it is. Everyone comes there for shopping, and you are deliberately attracting young people who like music. And have you had some pushback from maybe older church members, more traditional members? What does the church think about this unique method of reaching?

Manop (02:41):
In some city, the leaders are very open and they understand the young generation, but in some city, they’re still not quite understand why we do what we do. And a lot of them feel that it’s wasting of time. But after we did one festival in that city, then they start to see that in the evangelist thing, we lost the generation between 15 years old and 25. But all these people, they come for our festival first, leaders start to see the important of having a music festival reaching out to this group of people.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (03:24):
Why do you think music is such an important tool for reaching young people?

Manop (03:30):
Almost every one of them will listen to music, whether pop or rock or reggae or hip hop or whatever style. International gospel music festival is not a gospel in a type of music, but it’s wider, a broader and all kinds of musics that in this world I can say.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (03:54):
Now you have been the go-to person in this part of Asia for production. You’ve helped Franklin Graham with some of his production. You’ve been with Dr. Billy Wilson from Empowered 21, and you have technical expertise. How did you get started in this area of production?

Manop (04:19):
Actually, I was study in technical college before I went to Bible school in Singapore. And after that I went to join YWAM and then come back to Thailand to start church planting. But while we are doing a lot of outreaches, I felt that we need a better system to do a better job for outdoor. So in 2000, in about 2001, I started to get into a more production because at that time I felt God is calling me out to the marketplace. So starting from a full-time pastor, get into a 10 making, we call business for the kingdom. And I started the production company to help with a group organization or churches that need support for production and keep upgrading our system until we become a distributor for speakers brand am mate from Spain. And we also doing some secular job just to get enough fun to continue our ministry. That’s how I started.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:38):
But really the core of what your heart is is evangelism.

Manop (05:44):
Yes.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:45):
How do you merge the music with evangelism

Manop (05:53):
In a traditional way of evangelistic meeting? We just have worship preaching and then other call. And a lot of people, I mean for some people I say 15 to 25, they don’t want to participate much in that kind of a traditional crusade. So in the secular music festival, in Tale or in Asia, they like to have lots of bands line up maybe 10 to 12 bands, and it’s for the long period. So I get the same idea and I add the messages or the testimony or the preaching in between the band so that the people don’t feel like, oh, I’m come here just to listen to the speaker speak about what they want to speak about their God or something like that. But the difference is when the band, when they’re singers, the singers that they shouting their testimony or even telling the gospel, they don’t feel like, oh, I got to listen to this speaker. Or even you have another speaker come in between the band. They still don’t have the kind of, what do you call it? They still feel easy to listen to it because they expect to listen to the band after these speakers. So in between 10 to 15 minutes we slot in speakers.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (07:31):
So instead of having a one hour preacher, you do music and then 10 minutes testimony, then music, then a little message, and then music, and then give people a chance to respond.

Manop (07:45):
So we break the message messages into small, smaller one in between the band. In a shopping mall, there are, if we do like six, for example, 6:00 PM or 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM there’s a lot of people that walk in and out. They might sit for the band that they like for one hour and they might walk away. So every hour there’s a new audience come in to the mall. So having a speaker speak 10 to 15 minutes, it is a slot. Releasing out to the new people is not the same audience for the whole day.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (08:22):
And throughout the day you’ll have maybe hundreds, even thousands of people come through and hear the music, even if they’re not all there at one time, they’re passing through. And sometimes the music fills the entire mall. Even the people who are shopping on the other side of the mall, they hear what is happening

Manop (08:43):
In some of the mall, if the light is banned, they’ll stop for maybe one hour and inspect the whole area. So it depend on the band as well.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (08:59):
Yeah. Let’s talk about Asia. There are millions of people in this part of Asia and it’s a huge harvest field. There’s lots of people that need Jesus. What do you think God wants to do here in Asia over the next 10 years?

Manop (09:21):
I mean, from my own opinion, I believe that the young generation, we come to know Christ more because their heart is open. And I can see, and even in my local church, the majority of people in my church are 80% of young generation. So I believe that God is bringing in the young generation to the churches and we have to go out and take them in, not waiting in a church for them to come in. So what I do is, apart from the music festival that I do, I also have a youth festival, one day festival where we bring in leaders and youth to come for the training, stir them up, and then send them out the coming February, we have one in Bangkok. And after the one day, one full day, the training or the festival, we will send them out to do prison ministries to do a smaller festival in other cities.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (10:31):
And I heard you’re actually bringing in Planet Shakers with Russell Evans?

Manop (10:36):
Yes. Planet Shakers have been coming to Thailand almost every year before Covid.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (10:42):
And so people here love them,

Manop (10:45):
People like the band. So that one day on the 20th of February, we’ll have something from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM and then the last session will be Planet Shake concert.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (10:59):
Wow. I believe that will have a big impact.

Manop (11:03):
Amen.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (11:04):
How did you first come to know Christ? What’s your testimony? And then how did you develop a heart for ministry? Okay,

Manop (11:13):
I was grown up in the Buddhist family and when I was 12 years old, I got sponsors from World Vision because my family cannot help me to study. So World Vision adopt me and I go to church. So I accepted a lot during my time in with World Vision.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (11:43):
And then you went to ywam

Manop (11:45):
And after World Vision I graduated from high school and then I went to YWAM in Penang. Yeah.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (11:55):
Are there opportunities for evangelists to come to Asia and to work here? Would you invite people to come?

Manop (12:05):
Yes. So there’s evangelists, it’s depend on their ki. So if they do a smaller group or big festival or music, they’re most welcome to join us in our festival in each month.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (12:25):
Wonderful. Your vision ultimately is to be doing festivals every month throughout different parts of Asia or

Manop (12:36):
Yes, hopefully. But to prepare for that is take a little bit of time. So I do it in different country and each country we network with a local church and with the people that have the same heart and then they do all the grow population and we will go in for three days festival and then move to another country.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (12:56):
Let’s talk about the unique challenges in different countries. Done a lot in a bunch, and every country has opportunities and every country also has restrictions. So we’ll start with Thailand, the country that you’re from, what is the opportunity and what type of restrictions are there

Manop (13:16):
In Thailand? There’s a lot of opportunity. For example, the mall now, they understand what we do and they open anytime for us to go in. So the problem is we don’t have enough people or enough resources to do all the shopping mall in other cities.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (13:36):
And you’d like to do many different cities.

Manop (13:40):
I like to partner with the local church. So if the local church ready to accept us, we will go in and help them to prepare and continue. Because if I go to the city where there’s no use as well, so I go to the church, to the city where the church are ready to do the follow-up after our event.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (14:03):
Now, a few years ago you were doing stuff in Myanmar? Yes. Now there’s been a change in government there. Is it possible to do something in Myanmar even

Manop (14:11):
Now? We can go back anytime, yeah. Okay. Because we are not having problem with the soldiers or any politics in Myanmar.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (14:20):
And we were just in Laos and they gave us some guidelines on what could be done there. But yet they still allowed the music festival.

Manop (14:31):
The music festival there. They’re still allowed. Yeah.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (14:34):
Now we are here in Cambodia. We’re going to see tomorrow night. What

Manop (14:41):
In Cambodia? If you get a permit from the local provincial or the mayor, you are fine to do it. Yeah.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (14:49):
And what about Vietnam?

Manop (14:52):
Vietnam, we working with local church and they apply for their own permit. So Vietnam is another country that is starting to open more for the gospel

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (15:05):
And Franklin Graham was just there and had a tremendous event. Just thousands of people came and it would be really wonderful to see God open up the door. Now China, have you ever gone to China is probably

Manop (15:20):
China. There’s a lot of underground churches that we network with, but we haven’t done any music festival there yet.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (15:29):
What about Malaysia?

Manop (15:31):
Malaysia? We can go anytime.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (15:33):
And have you done work in Singapore or Indonesia?

Manop (15:37):
We did Philippines, Malaysia,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (15:41):
Philippines. It is totally open. Yeah. You can do anything? Yes. Wow. Well, I really believe that God’s eye is on Asia and that we are going to see a great harvest of souls come into the kingdom of God throughout all of Asia. And I think God is also going to raise up powerful Asian evangelists like you. Amen. Who have a heart to reach this part of the world for Jesus.

Manop (16:07):
Praise God.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (16:08):

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:00):
Welcome to the Evangelism Podcast. I’m Daniel King, and I’m excited about telling people about Jesus. Today I am in Nairobi, Kenya with my good friend, pastor Moses Muguro . Thank you so much for being on the Evangelism Podcast.

Moses Muguro (00:15):
Thank you very much Dr. Daniel King for this coming to Kenya and this moment to be with you. This is a miracle

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:23):
<Laugh>. Now, yesterday we had a wonderful time. I flew in 7:30 AM I landed. Yes. And you came to the airport. You picked me up, took me straight over to your church. And I had the wonderful privilege and opportunity of, of ministering. And you have such a beautiful church. It’s you, you’re so

Moses Muguro (00:42):
Blessed. Thank you. Thank you, thank you. Yeah. The Lord has blessed us in amazing ways. But one of the things with our church is we are a church that has a focus to reach out, not to stay within the four corners of the church. We have an obligation and we usually, I usually tell the church and we tell each other, we are not just building a church. It’s Jesus who said, I will build my church. Our work is to go out and bring sinners to Christ. So we are there to be equipped in the church. It is an equipping station at the congregation. This is just an equipping station. You get equipped, but you don’t stay inside. The work is out there. We minister to the people inside when they get saved, and then we release them into their destinations, into their fields. That is what we feel as a church. God has called us for

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:37):
Now. What is the name of your church?

Moses Muguro (01:39):
It is called Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa. All Nations Gospel by Church Perfa per stands, Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:49):
Wow. It was such a, a privilege to be there yesterday. Now, you and I have been friends for a while now. Yes. We first met at Multnomah University Yes. In Portland, Oregon. Yes. You were there studying with Dr. Tim Rob net. Yes. And he has one of the only evangelism programs at the doctoral level in the entire United States. And so you are going through the, the doctorate of Ministry program there at Multnomah University, and the focus of your research was evangelism. And so I, I had the opportunity to take one class, and so we met, we became friends. Mm-Hmm. <affirmative>. And you also have a brother George. He a twin

Moses Muguro (02:31):
Brother

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:32):
George, who is your twin. And so both of you love Jesus and are serving the Lord. Indeed. Indeed. Now, now tell me a little bit about the research that you did for your doctorate to ministry.

Moses Muguro (02:44):
Yeah. it was a miracle meeting with you at the Morton University, and just God connected us. And my, the, my research, the focus of my paper is raising evangelist in the local churches. And I specifically gave that to my church because I began raising local evangelist in local churches. The evangelist, especially in Africa, is not the, the, the evangelist is not recognized. He’s not identified. Is that is a By the way, we are planning evangelism meeting next week. So where is the evangelist? But in my, in my focus, I began raising local evangelist. And every fortnight, every two weeks, I began a class for evangelist. Every Sunday afternoon, bring the evangelist from my church and other churches and just begin to train them to work with them, to equip them. We get to hear their testimonies, what God is doing.

(03:46):
And in my, in my church, I have evangelist and some of them are in the pay, pay payroll because the, the, the evangelist is a very vital part of the body of Christ. Christ gave us the apostles, the prophet, the evangelist, the pastor, the teacher. So the evangelist is part of the part of the minister to equip the body and also to go out. And so that’s what we do. Every fortnight, the evangelists come, and I also invite other evangelists outside to come and share with them to equip them. And it is amazing what God is doing when we begin to align ourselves and hear the voice of the Holy Spirit on the place of evangelist and then time harvest.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (04:37):
And so how have you implemented this research in your church? What results have you seen?

Moses Muguro (04:46):
Thank you very much. I have seen for the last actually more than three years, I have seen the evangelist gaining, number one, gaining confidence and recognize and being recognized in the body of Christ. As ministers, they’re being recognized and they’re being identified, and they’re being helped even financially. I mean, people standing with them and saying, yes, this is very important. This is very key. And even the church recognizing we have to embrace the evangelist, the office of the evangelist, and also the local evangelist. We have to work with them. We have to allow them to minister both within and outside. So I’ve seen churches, not just even my church, I’ve seen churches realizing this is important. Pastor Moses is doing this. I’m a pastor and an evangelist. I’m an evangelist and a pastor. I don’t know which comes first. I, I, I realize I, I operate in both offices. And by the grace of God, I have been able to identify, equip, and even empower and begin to release to release evangelist into the harvest field.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (06:06):
I think this is so important because often in the church, the pastor is recognized mm-hmm. <Affirmative>, if you feel called to be in ministry. Yes. Then people say, oh, you must be called to be a pastor. Yes. But the, the gift of the evangelist is a little bit different than the gift of the, the pastor. And sometimes what you find is that evangelists who are called to be evangelists, they get pushed into being pastors. And, and then if they, they try to do evangelism, there doesn’t seem to be a place for them. And so I think it’s so important to elevate and lift up the, the understanding of the office of the evangelists. We need evangelists in the church.

Moses Muguro (06:47):
And, and, and what you’re saying is very true, especially for Africa. It is been bad. We, we had stretched to the extreme where the evangelist was like evangelism work, and the evangelist was left for the young people, the guys who have nothing to do. If you’re called to the ministry, go to the Bible school. You are sent to the church to be a pastor. And many of them struggled because when you are an evangelist and you’re fixed into an office that is not yours or into a ministry that is not yours, you’ll always struggle. You’ll always have scam something like, no, there is something. I’m missing the calling of God. The mantra of God in my life is I am an evangelist. And when I began to equip evangelists, like some of them, I’ll buy them even portable public address system and give them, they’ll be so excited the following day I’ll see them reaching out, and I’m like, you are an evangelist.

(07:47):
You have been fixed to be a Bible teacher. But look, you are now your voice. Look at your passion. Look at the heartbeat, everything about you. You actually realize this is who God called me into. This is from the creation of the world. God wanted me to be a proclaimer of the good news of Jesus Christ, and to proclaim it as an evangelist. So I have, it is one evangelist, is one of the people who are actually, we are waiting for the ministry of evangelism to be fulfilled. Then Jesus comes the gospel to be proclaimed everywhere. And Jesus comes. So he’s one of the key persons who is very vital in this time season.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (08:35):
Take a moment to talk to other African pastors if they want to lift up evangelism in their church. First of all, how do they identify people in the church who maybe have the gift of an evangelist? And then second, how do they start to give opportunities to evangelists, to, to preach the gospel. Mm-Hmm. <affirmative>. And then how do they train them so that they can be equipped to really do the ministry that God has called them to do? How can we here in Africa start to lift up more evangelists?

Moses Muguro (09:08):
Yeah. Thank you very much. The first and the most important thing is when, when, when, when a believer has come to Christ and has been discipled given raised and given the word of God and now reached, and then this person begins, usually you find people who begin to volunteer. They’re giving themselves, they’re saying, I need to serve. I need to do somewhere. And then you realize this is, this is a, it’s like a baby, and I can see a talent. They’re, they’re, they’re pulling well on this side, they’re doing well on this side. And then you begin to, to tap that talent. And all of the things I do is identify them in the church. And then I create a forum. You, you, you, you, you have a passion. You, you want to, and I begin teaching the whole church the importance of evangelism.

(10:00):
And there are people who will volunteer, call them out. Please come. If this is your heartbeat, if, if you feel that God has laid a burden for sins, come, we want to walk with you. So I identify them, and then I begin to see little talent. This person is flowing in the outdoors. This person has a talent in this area. I begin to sharpen them to walk with them. You, you are in the marketplace, evangelist. I want you to go there. You are a full-time evangelist. I want you to be quit. I have sent some to Bible school not to be quit as pastors, to be quit and nourished and given the right staff. Then when they come out, I begin now to give them to, we create the class. When we created the class, the people we had sent to Bible school, they also need to come to the evangelism class.

(10:50):
Then I give them public address systems, drugs, materials. And then I give them opportunity. I give these people opportunity even to teach, to teach in the church the importance of evangelism. Another teachings, some of my evangelists have given them topics. Topics. This is an evangelist who was growing up, teachers about Stephen was an evangelist. Bring to us a character of Stephen. And then I give the evangelist to do that homework, and they give, bring it out that well, but I’m building also these evangelists to pick these characters and to build up with them. And then I give them also Sunday service to minister to the church, because the ministry of evangelism and the minister of the evangelist has a lot of blessings. It carries with it healing and encouragement, comfort, both within the church and outside the church. And I see God using them in different aspects.

(11:46):
They’re releasing different encouragement to the body. And then they go out. They have a lot of boldness. The pastor has commissioned us because if they’re not commissioned, they’ll not be, they’ll be operating within any umbrella. I mean, outside an umbrella, they can be attacked. So I commission them go to this direction but come back and report and tell me what happened. Go to the school, come back and report what happened. So the pastors in Africa, we must first of all identify. They’re already there. They’re already there. The giftings of the evangelism evangelist is already in the church. Identify, then you recruit, beginning listing. In my church, I had to enlist. I had to write down, write down your name in that particular class. Then from there, train them, equip them, send them to Bible school, have classes within the church. Then opportunity, open opportunities for them. Because if you don’t also open opportunities for them, they might not have the strength to knock doors, but when they go with a, like, they need a letterhead, an introduction letter to go to this school, that gives them a, a very big platform. They’re recognized. You’re coming from this direction. So it is very important we begin working those steps by steps and begin to create an awareness in the church that evangelists are part of the ministry of the church.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (13:17):
Now, you have actually implemented these ideas in your church, and one of your innovative ideas is to do evangelism by sports. Yes. And so you are starting a basketball tournament inviting many different basketball teams from your neighborhood to come to the church. And then you plan to sponsor them playing against one another, then feed them and, and give them something. And, and then evangelize, tell these basketball players about Jews. So yesterday we went and we anointed the basketball court as a tool for evangelism. Yes. And then you also plan to do the same thing with football. Tell, tell me some about those plans and what you hope to see God do.

Moses Muguro (14:04):
Yeah. you know, evangelist King, one of the things that God is doing with the, this generation of evangelist is we just have to ask God for ideas. Yeah. because God is not limited with ideas. Even in Africa, we don’t have those big resources, but God can give us fresh ideas because God is a God of freshness every morning, fresh manner. Yeah. And so we’ve been doing different approaches, which I can share of evangelism going out street evangelism pray, walking in our estate evangelism. And recently we said, why don’t we now begin to be to create a very good awareness, friendship to these young people in the community. And we we, we just begin to brainstorm and say, Hey, what are the approaches? And one of the approaches, sport evangelisms evangelism through sports, and we said with the young people, we are starting with the basketball.

(15:08):
And guess what? We changed our parking lot into a basketball co a pitch. So Saturday, I called the painter, paint this place and make it a basketball pitch. And I had told the, the, the young people on Sunday, we’ll be anointing the ground and releasing the game. And the, by the grace of God evangelist King is here on Sunday. So we anointed that basketball pitch, which is our parking lot. And I’m sure some of the members of the church are like, oh, pastor’s bringing sports into the church. But you see, the thing is, when I went there yesterday after the church by five, I was in the, in the, in the church. And the boys were playing, and they were about a hundred and something boys and girls who had come to watch the game. And my, my, my evangelism, young people were evangelists, were the, my evangelism team were witnessing to these boys.

(16:11):
And we had put Christian music. And these are boys I’ve never seen in church. These are boys who are not Christians. And remember, we have anointed the field and we have said, whoever steps in here, the power of God must touch them. I was excited because the only way for us to reach this generation, like the young people, is to befriend them, is to go to them and tell them, I’m a friend. I am a parent. I have a, I have a, I have a young boy you prayed for who graduated my son wisdom. And for me to become a friend to wisdom, I mean, to reach him, I have become, to become a friend. And I know with sports, every boy loves sports. So I could see all these boys, and they are happy. They’re like, dads have not come here to bo bundles with the, with a gospel message.

(17:03):
But they are creating a forum for us to have fun. As they’re having fun. I’m also taking care of their health. They’re not at home just watching cheap televisions that we get from China, wasting their time. They’re exercising. Number two. Number three, I’m keeping them engaged in the right environment. They’re not going out there where they can do all kinds of things. Drugs. They’re within the safe environment. Every parent would want to release their boys and girls. I could see the girls there. I could see children there. Parents were very comfortable. Number four, it is an opportunity for these boys because many of them are not working. We have a lot of joblessness. Yeah. So now we are beginning to see, we can form a sports club that can go very far. That was begun by a church. That is a vision for the young people. And the vision for the, for president and the leadership in Africa is to engage in our young people in productivity. So they become product. And now the main thing, number five, we are winning them to Christ. Wow. So this is the focus for the men. We have begun, we have begun soccer evangelism through through sports soccer.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (18:21):
Now here in Kenya, do you call it soccer or football?

Moses Muguro (18:23):
We call it football.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (18:24):
Okay. So, so football, half, most of the world calls it football. In America, we say soccer. But let’s think about the math. Yesterday in, in, in church, you said that you had 20 teams that signed up for the tournament. And each team has 20 players. Yes. And so, 20 times 20, 400, 400, you are going to have the opportunity to impact the lives of 400 young people. And plus, when all the boys come to play soccer, all the girls will come to watch them. Yes. The parents will come to watch them. And you will have the opportunity to have a major impact in your area.

Moses Muguro (19:04):
I have never worked this way before, but I believe it’s the vision of the Holy Spirit. ’cause We’ve been praying, we have a prayer center. We’ve put the map of Africa, the map of the world, and we’ve been saying, Lord, give us a nation ask of the Lord. And he give you the nation for an inheritance. Yeah. And even for a community. And the men, as we were talking, they said, why don’t you do soccer, football? And as, as, as I told you, they have invited 20 teams and they have invited the member of Parliament for our community. They have invited the, the member of County Assembly. They have invited different groups. They have hired public address system. We have hired the biggest field in our community, the biggest field that is owned by the Kenya Airport Authority. They have allowed us, because it is a big tournament, tournaments are coming.

(19:55):
They’re hearing that this is happening. We are sponsoring as a church. It is not cheap. But the gospel is not cheap. The gospel is not cheap. And I think many times when we make it cheap, that is when we get cheap results. So we are saying, as a church, we will do everything possible. Let these things come, let them pray, let them play. Let them go the professional way. We’ll have professional coaches, professional referees, and everybody, but we are winning these people to Christ before the games. We pray after the games, we pray for them. We share the gospel with them. They have accepted that. And because we are we, we, we, they have accepted us. We are not condemning them. We are telling them, come, come on, come with your friends. This is a nice time. Because we have a lot of, you see these men and these young boys and girls, many of them are not working.

(20:51):
This will be holidays, especially for the soccer. So they’ll all be there. And we have three days. We are doing it for three days, three consecutive days. We have a winner, a cup that will be donated. We are asking the member of parliament to come and present it. And we want him also to hear the gospel plus his enter, plus his team and the whole community. And this is what we, this is what I’ve come to realize eventually is also have to keep asking God for step past. What is the next level, Lord, if you are in this community, how will you reach them? And Christ will use all these avenues. He’ll use the boat to sit down. Yeah. He’ll use the net. He’ll use all those things. And we now have to begin using the boats, the nets, the donkeys of our days, all those opportunities that are there to bring people the recreation.

(21:50):
Christ would go to the seaside and minister to people, because that’s a good place. That’s a good spot for people. There was grass where Christ was teaching, and he was organizing all these people. Disciples let them sit in 50. And when we begin to see the aspect of Lord, give us direction, give us freshness. Give us all these platforms that are in this planet for us to communicate the gospel, then these sins, they’re ready to receive the gospel. They’re ready to hear. Actually, I think we’ve, I’ve come to realize the biggest problem has been the church. Because the church, we closed ourselves to the four corners. And we thought our, our main business is a four corners. We have the best choir in the church. We stay there. Seniors will not come there. There’ll be one or two or three. And that’s why in our sports evangelism, like yesterday, all these bad boys were outside comfortable.

(22:52):
They’re comfortable. They’re like, oh, we don’t see here guys. The pastor with the collar and everybody chasing us and telling us, can you be seated here? Well, and can you be quiet? They were all cheering. They were all loud. Wow. I was telling them, cheer your team this is a beach and be happy, have fun. But at the end of it, I know I am breaking an ice. Where they have seen the church is like, I’m not welcome. We are telling them we are actually not inside the church. We are outside where God is. And I believe this is the direction the, the, the Lord is showing us as a church. We just have to keep out going out. We are an equipping sta station as a church to be equipped. And then we can’t stay with all this energy. If we stay with all this energy. Oh, they’re like the fallers. If we stay here, we die. We’d rather go out. We’d rather at midnight wake up, go meet this army. And we realize God is at work. The angels are at work. The Holy Spirit is at, and he’s waiting for just the fallers. So in Africa, we are like those people, but we are realizing the light has come. The light has come. Well, I

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (24:07):
Love your heart for evangelism, your heart, for raising up evangelism in the local church. And I believe God will give you a great harvest of souls.

Moses Muguro (24:18):
Amen. Through

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (24:19):
This evangelism by sports. Amen. It is a big investment for your church. Yes. But I believe that it will produce great results in the years to come. And, and God will give you many people that will, will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. These young people. God’s gonna raise them up to be Yes. Leaders here in Africa. Amen. And pastors and evangelists and, and great business leaders and politicians and Amen. And so God’s gonna do many things through this outreach.

Moses Muguro (24:49):
You know, one young man who came there, had, had, had gone back was once a Christian and went back and he came and he was drunk. He was a young man. I knew him. Yeah. And his name is David. And he told me, you know, pastor, I’m back. I’m back to me, for him to tell me I’m back, it was like the prodigal son coming back home. And you see, I could try many ways to reach him, but he saw his friends outside the church court playing and his arm back. Wow. So we have to, you know, all these people they’re waiting to be received. Mm-Hmm. The, the, the, the, we have just to open our hands, our hearts and our resources, and receive all these sons and daughters because they’re the God loves them. God caress for them.

(25:46):
God is thinking while we are inside the church, God is saying, but I have other ship who are out there, and I leave the 99, I go and I go for those ones. So you have to partner with God when he’s leaving the 99 to go for the one ship. And that’s what, as a church, we are saying, there’s this one ship. And when Christ is leaving the 99, I don’t want to be in the 99. I want to be with Christ when he’s going for this one to bring this one to the 99. So that’s what God has put into my heart as an evangelist. And even raising other evangelist. We now have to be uncomfortable. We have to be uncomfortable where we’ve been so comfortable. Things are like everything is okay in the church. No. I believe even the reason why there is a stirring up in many churches is because we don’t go out. If we go out, then we’ll bring freshness. But if we don’t go out, there’s no freshness in the church. So that’s what I told my church. If you don’t go out, we’ll be fighting the choir. Do not sing good songs today. But let’s, let’s take the choir outside and you realize those songs are good <laugh>.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (26:55):
Wonderful. Well, thank you so much. I really appreciate you being on the Evangelism podcast.

Moses Muguro (27:00):
Thank you. Thank you, Dr. King. I appreciate you coming to Africa. This is very prophetic. And you, you released a prophetic word in my church. We are going far. Amen. We are experiencing a new level in Jesus

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (27:15):
Name. Well, we are a pair of docs. Amen. Dr. Moses. Yes. Dr. Daniel together. Yes. Winning the world for

Moses Muguro (27:22):
Jesus. Winning the world for Jesus. Amen. And thank you for your testimonies. How when you grew up, you are Jesus. That was

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (27:30):
<Laugh>

Moses Muguro (27:31):
What?

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (27:31):
Thank Yeah. In the drama. I always play the part of Jesus in the drama to lead people to Jesus.

Moses Muguro (27:36):
Amen. Amen. You’re an encouragement to the evangelist in Africa. Thank

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (27:42):
You. And

Moses Muguro (27:42):
Keep coming to Africa.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (27:43):
Oh, I love Africa. Amen. It is wonderful to be here in Kenya.

Moses Muguro (27:47):
Amen. Amen. God bless you.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (27:49):
Amen. I’ll come back.

Moses Muguro (27:50):
Welcome. And you are welcome, Kenya. Make it one of your headquarters and we’ll be very happy because we have to reach Somalia. We have to reach a Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan right now. Yeah. It is in chaos. Central Africa Republic. We have to Libya. Libya is in Kios, and we have to go out Egypt Malawi, Mozambique, those African countries. I, I’ve been to a few and I shed tears because they need a gospel. Amen. They need a gospel.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (28:24):
Amen. Well, I believe that God will raise up young people in your church that you’ll even begin to send out as evangelists and missionaries. Oh, yes. Across this entire part of Africa.

Moses Muguro (28:34):
Oh, yes. Oh yes. That, that’s, that’s our heartbeat. We have the map of Africa in our prayer room and actually the whole map of the world and also the map of Africa and rich people groups. And we have all these nations and we keep praying for them. But now I’m saying the harvest is playing for the laborers are few. Lord, send the labors. And we are the labors. Yeah. So we also have to begin hearing the Lord saying, now go. Now go. I mean, God answers, but he also comes and says, you, you are the solution. You have the answer. So I’ve been telling them, Somalia, we have to go. If you don’t go, then they will. There will be instability in Somali. They’ll come to us. When they come to us. They’ll disturb us. When they disturb us. We have no option but to go pray for them. Mm-Hmm. <affirmative>, go speak to them. And we have seen a little bit of that in Kenya. And I tell my Kenyan, my Kenyan ministers, we should be careful because, because we are not going to them. God will bring them to us. Amen. And he’s doing

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (29:33):
It. Amen. Amen.

The Evangelism Podcast Host (00:37):
Welcome to the Evangelism Podcast with Dr. Daniel King, where Daniel interviews full-time evangelists, pastors, missionaries, and normal everyday Christians to discover how they share their faith, their powerful testimonies, and amazing stories that will inspire you to reach people with the good news. And now here’s your host, missionary, and evangelist Daniel King.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:02):
Welcome to the Evangelism Podcast. I’m Daniel King, and I’m excited about telling people about Jesus. Today. I have a very special guest, Mikael Boman, Thank you for being on the Evangelism Podcast with me.

Mikael Boman (01:12):
Thank you so much. It’s a privilege to be here together with you.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:16):
We have known each other for many years because you knew my wife. You used to work for Pastor Peter Youngrenan evangelist from Canada, and you helped organize crusades for him in many different countries. Tell me about what you learned about doing campaigns, working with Pastor Peter Youngrin.

Mikael Boman (01:38):
I would say what I learned the most is that we we learned to do what was impossible, time after time. And you know, doing the impossible time after time, you know, place after place, going to many of the difficult places created a a sense of nothing is impossible. That’s what I really brought with me. Number one, working with with Pastor Peter.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:04):
What were some of the countries that you worked with back at that time?

Mikael Boman (02:08):
I mean, we worked a lot in India, worked in Pakistan, really difficult at that time. We were in some really difficult parts of Pakistan Indonesia, you know Tanzania, of course, a little, little bit easier, bar, difficult Congo both the Congos we were into. And we did some other parts that was, you know, challenging.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:32):
And Ethiopia

Mikael Boman (02:33):
Of course, also a lot of Ethiopia.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:35):
Yeah. And, and so now you have a tremendous focus on pioneer missions. Mm-Hmm. <Affirmative>, Could you tell me what is Pioneer Missions?

Mikael Boman (02:46):
What pioneer missions for me is to go to those places, those people groups, language groups, tribes are the least reached. Those that I have never had opportunity hear about Jesus. We are really targeting towards those who we are called, they’re called unengaged. They have never heard about Jesus Christ since the death and resurrection of, of Jesus Christ. And there no Bible translations going on. There are no, no missionaries going there. And you know, basically they’re, they’re untouched with the gospel. So that, that’s our, our, our, our aim and our focus. But of course, we also preach to people that are unreached. They might belong to people group. There are believers there, but the church is very weak and very few believers. So that’s especially on their hearts to do something for them.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (03:42):
I think this is such an important focus for the body of Christ to have, because in my town Tulsa, Oklahoma, there’s literally a church on almost every corner. Yeah. I mean, they joke around and say that if you drop, drop a tract on the ground, a church will spring up. It’s so fertile. Wow. But when you go to some places, there’s, there’s no churches. There’s no Christians, and it takes a real special kind of anointing calling from God to go to those places. How do you train people to go to pioneer areas and really pioneer something for Jesus? Mm.

Mikael Boman (04:22):
It’s really not that complicated. I would say. I, I don’t think we should make it more complicated than there is, than it is actually. But it’s challenging. But we, we, we work with something called Mission one 11. It’s like very intense high impact training. Actually. They, they go through eight weeks a boot camp where we, where we give them some, some ba basic teaching. You know, how do you preach and teach the gospel? We, we give them a tool called storytelling. Basically we were entering into places where they had no idea about what is the Bible, you know, who is Jesus who created the heaven and the earth. So we start from the beginning, you know, in the beginning that was God and God created and, you know, so on and so forth. And we work through the whole testament and into the New Testament, you know, to get, to lay a foundation.

Mikael Boman (05:08):
Why did Jesus have to come? So we work with that for, for eight weeks. We do you know, cross culture training. We do physical training, CrossFit twice, twice a week to build up the physique, cuz some, we go to some rough places. So when after eight weeks we ship them out and they’re out in unreached people group for about six weeks in total, if you say from the leave. And, and then they’re back. And then we do the briefing afterwards and after the, the, this time we, we put them through something. We, we give them the opportunity to go to something called the next step so they can be a part of, you know, continue in their missions calling. So, so really the, the first part is it’s not so complicated, it’s just about, you know, doing it. And so it works pretty good.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (06:00):
So Mission 1:11, you’re in Sweden. Mm-Hmm. <Affirmative>, but there’s also branches of Yes. Mission 1:11 in Canada mm-hmm. <Affirmative> and in the United States. And so the purpose is to raise up people who have a passion for reaching the unreached. Talk to me a little bit more about storytelling, what that looks like. How would someone tell the story of the gospel if they were in a culture that didn’t know anything about Jesus?

Mikael Boman (06:34):
I would say that’s the power of storytelling. That actually storytelling has two pastor is really important. It, it’s number one, the, the, the tool of, of, of telling oral stories about, you know, the creation. You know, how was the world created, you know, the, the the, the follow man sin came into the world and destroyed the world. So we, we work through that and we talk about the prophecies about him that would come and, and you know, laying a foundation. So when we come into, you know, John the Baptist and, and talking about Jesus coming, they, they all see how, how chronologically it fits together. Because if you, if you enter into a people group that have no previous understanding and knowledge of the Bible, you know, knowledge about the living God and knowledge about, you know, who is Jesus Christ, you know, it’s, it’s, it’s trying to contextualize it in such a way, you know, based on the chronological stories of the Bible.

Mikael Boman (07:31):
So they will, they will gain knowledge and revelation from that, from, you know, the Bible scriptures that the, the storytelling is based on. So it’s, it’s really giving them revelation. And of course we believe the Holy Spirit is working through the, through the telling of the stories, cuz it’s basically the scripture that we’re telling them. And you know, that helps them to, to gain knowledge, understanding and revelation about the ways of the living God, you know, how to, why do I need to get saved? You know, what is salvation? You know, what, what, you know, what is the new birth? You know, you know, the Baptists and of the, of the Holy Spirit, you know, all these important things that, that we take for granted as Christians. And, but they have no clue. So in a very short time of, of when they’re out in the, in the, on the mission field for these, you know, five weeks, you know, four or five weeks on site, they don’t have much time. So it’s a very condensed but very efficient, high impact way of, of, you know, sharing the gospel. So it’s because they have no previous understanding, you know, of the God of the Bible,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (08:43):
What are some parts of the world that you would consider to be in need of pioneer missions?

Mikael Boman (08:50):
I mean, there, there are a lot of, of places, but I i, I would say for my, you know, this our Swedish section, which is part of the mission one 11, of course Mission one 11 was started by, by Carl Haram and Jennifer Haram you know, and a number of years ago. But I’m, I’m heading up the, the Swedish part. And we have our passion is the 10 40 window. And we, we try to, to focus on that part specifically. And I would say like the, the whole of Africa, you have a great need. You have you know, of course the Middle East, but I would say Southeast Asia, where you have the, the tremendous growth of you know, population. But you also have a lot of people groups there. You know, Pakistan, you have India, China, of course Vietnam, Thailand some of the places where people are actually traveling quite often from the western world.

Mikael Boman (09:49):
But there are still people groups that are, you know, in, in areas of these nations where they, they’ve been unreached by the gospel of the gospel and, and where have been, you know, no missionaries going. So we we’re we’re operating with something. We, we have an operation called Operation 326. We’ve done a research to see, you know, where are the remain remaining people groups that have never heard of gospel before. So we are actually sending out expeditionary teams, going out, putting boots on the ground to find out is the test statistics that we, that we reading Joshua project, finish the task and so on. Is it accurate? Because we’ve learned something and, and I know all these organizations, they do the best and they do a great job, but it’s very difficult with statistics. So the only way to figure, find out how is the situation is you need to put boots on the ground.

Mikael Boman (10:40):
You need to, to meet people, you need to interview people, find out, you know, what is going on. So our focus is this summer we’ve had two teams going in Southeast Asia visiting six different unengaged people groups. And we’ve found out out of these six there are two, maybe three of them that, that are actually unengaged. One was in simulated with another people groups and don’t, don’t exist anymore. Two others have been reached, but the statistics says they’re unengaged not reached ever. So that’s a bit of work to do. And, and our passion is for you know, 10 /40 window, especially Southeast Asia. Cuz that’s where the most of the people are.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (11:22):
So when you send out a team for Mission one 11 and for an immersion six weeks, you’re not going to five star hotels. No. You’re going out into primitive areas and they’ll actually go and live in a village. Yes.

Mikael Boman (11:39):
They’ll, they’ll move on into a village and stay there in a tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag very simple, rough it’s not for everyone, I would say. But we, we find that it’s a lot of, of especially young people that wanna they’re not, I wouldn’t say they’re out after adventure, but it’s like the they feel it’s not fair. How can it be that we have heard gospel being preached over and over again? We get servings of good gospel, good bible teaching. We have prayer meetings, we have cell groups, we have midweek services, we have you know, youth services. We have morning service and Sunday evening service, and we have service and service and service, which is great. We have podcasts like, like this lot of teaching. And there, then there are others who never had their first serving of the gospel.

Mikael Boman (12:32):
So we find that there is the younger generation, they feel that this is not fair, you know something has to be done. And, and you know, some of them are really, they, they feel the calling and they feel the urgency that, you know, I want to be a part of doing something different. I want to be part of helping people that never heard of gospel before. And some, many of those that we, that come to our schools, they have no prior experience at all, are missions, none. So, so it’s it’s a challenge for them, but they’re willing to pay the price. And we are, we’re blessed to work with young and, and also some middle-aged people also coming.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (13:12):
Tell me some testimonies. What results have you seen in your effort to, to reach these pioneer mission areas?

Mikael Boman (13:21):
Well let’s say we have I can, I can take one from, from Sri Lanka, which is really not an most people wouldn’t say Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is the most unreached place on the earth, but as a nation. But you have villages up in the, the mountainous areas where they have very little contact with, with the rest of the world. Of course, they, they have television they watch, you know, via satellite and so on. But they have otherwise they live in the village. They work ont states or you know, they’re, they’re cut off from the rest of the world, pretty much. So a couple of years ago we sent a, a team with young people and, and a couple of leaders into village where they have never had any encounter with white people before. It’s not that we are special, but no foreigners have been there, and no one had been there preaching to them.

Mikael Boman (14:20):
The only thing we came into, the only thing they had was a, they had a Hindu temple in the middle of the village you know, several hundred people living there and never heard a gospel. And we, we started to, to share the stories with them and evening after evening and, you know, praying for people that were sick. I mean, a lot of people are sick and they got healed. They started to listen. People got saved. And from being nothing, not a single believer, all of a sudden we had the group of believers, you know, in, in, in a few weeks if, if these young people would’ve gone there, these people in village will never heard of gospel. They’ve never been saved without them. So with simple means, ordinary young people can make a difference where preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, you know, seeing signs, wonders, and miracles happening and, and, you know, people being born again and, and safe eternity. And I think that is a great impact. And we’ve seen this in village after village, you know, in, in different tribes. And it’s, it’s wonderful to have the privilege to be part of this.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (15:26):
I think sometimes churches in America and in Europe, forget about these unreached people places often the church spends money building a, a beautiful building, and then they send out missionaries, but a lot of the missionaries get sent to places that are largely reached. I mean, I was a, grew up as a missionary in Mexico, and there were many missionaries there, but Mexico has very good churches. Yes. But the churches forgotten about some of these areas. They’re remote, they’re hard to, to get to. Yeah. So what would you say to those churches who, who want to obey the great commission, they wanna go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. But h how can a church get involved in engaging with an Unre people group?

Mikael Boman (16:16):
Yeah. I would say there are, there are several, several ways of being involved and engaged in pie in their missions. You know, number one there are good, good sites. You know, Joshua Project finished the task where you can read about the, you know, the situation in the world. You know, praying is one good thing. I would say the other thing that we would encourage them, you know, why don’t they contact us at Mission one 11, Mission one eleven.com. If you’re in the States, and you’ll find a lot of information, you know, how you can be involved in reaching down engaged people groups. I would say mainly why people are not involved. It’s not that they don’t want to, it’s because they don’t know. I mean when I, I, I visited, I visited pastors, churches, you know, different, you know, networks and so on.

Mikael Boman (17:02):
And I, and when we start to share about these things, most people think it’s already done. They think that everyone heard, you know, we are basically waiting for the imminent to return out our Lord Jesus. And, and when we start to talk about, you know, there are unengaged groups, groups that have never heard about Jesus before, ever. They’re surprised. And, and the response from many are, How can we help? How can we be involved? I mean, this is not fair. This is not right. Let us do something for these people. So it’s, it’s a lack of knowledge mainly not so much of a heart condition, because when people get to know about this, they say, Okay, let’s do something, you know, let’s be involved somehow. That’s, that’s a lot of the reactions that we get. Then of course, they don’t think, how do we do it? We, we don’t know anything about, we are sending missionaries and, you know, to places that are mostly reached that where have been mission work going on for a number of years. So it has to be a, a shift of focus and that, that might take some time. But, you know, read, listen, you know, a good step is you, you’re listening to this podcast, and now, now when you hear about it, you know, let’s, let’s do something about it and Yeah, sure. Can you one eleven.com?

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (18:19):
Yeah. So, so if you’re listening and, and you’re a young person who wants to go on an, an adventure for Jesus, and you’re not scared, you’re ready to go anywhere that Jesus calls you, I really encourage you to, to pray about going on pioneer missions and, and connect with mission one eleven.com and find out more about how you can go to these, these places that are very hard to reach, but where you can have a, a, a tremendous impact leading people, entire people groups to Jesus. Yes.

Mikael Boman (18:54):
It’s it’s a privilege. I would say that the change that we see in our students’ lives usually when they come, you know, we have, we’ve had people that have been barely saved when they come to us, and we have those that have been saved for, you know, they’ve been believers since as long as they can remember when they go and some up into, to different bible schools, psychologists, you know, prior to ours. Others have no previous experience. So when they work together as a group for these eight weeks during the booth camp, we see a change in the lives. But when we really see the change in the lives is when they are out in the tribe afterwards. When they, when they come back, we hear this over and over again, again, and they say, I didn’t know that God could use me in such a way.

Mikael Boman (19:37):
I didn’t know that I would see miracles in front of my very eyes. I didn’t know, you know, how the situation, you know, among the unreached art, and I’m so happy that I made this step. It, it, it changed their lives, but oh boy, it really changed my life and my heart. So we see transformation in the hearts and in the lives of those going through Mission one 11, as well as in the lives in those that they have shared a gospel with. So it’s win-win situation and the people that you meet will never be the same. And if you go through this, you will never be the same,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (20:20):
You know, will change your life and it will change the lives of others for, for all of eternity. Absolutely. Well, thank you brother Michael for being on the Evangelism Podcast. I so love your ministry, your passion for, for reaching the lost in very difficult places of the earth. Thank you for standing up for Jesus.

Andreas Cucca pastors a small Swedish church, and he’s a missionary evangelist who reaches out to the nation of Bangladesh. Today. He talks about the challenges of pastoring and the joy of evangelism. Jesus

Evangelism Podcast Host (00:27):
Welcome to the Evangelism Podcast with Dr. Daniel King, where Daniel interviews full-time evangelists, pastors, missionaries, and normal everyday Christians to discover how they share their faith, their powerful testimonies, and amazing stories that will inspire you to reach people with the good news. And now here’s your host, missionary, and evangelist Daniel King.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:52):
Welcome to the Evangelism Podcast. I’m Daniel King, and I’m excited about telling people about Jesus the day I have a very special guest with me, Andreas Cucca. Did I say that right?

Andreas Cucca (01:03):
Yeah. About <laugh> as good as it gets, Andreas Cucca. Yeah.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:07):
All right. So you are a pastor in Sweden, and you also have a great heart for evangelism. Tell me a little bit about all the things that you’re involved in.

Andreas Cucca (01:19):
Well, I’m a local church pastor. And I work with missions among unreached people groups in different countries. But it, my main focus has been Bangladesh for the last 15 years. Besides from pastoring, I’ve been doing different kind of secular jobs, working in church, church planting, and so on. But now I’m a local church pastor since six years and doing missions with my wife and my family several times a year we go out to different mission fields.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:50):
Tell me about the context of the ministry that you’re doing in Sweden. Your, your church is in a small village.

Andreas Cucca (01:59):
Yeah, it’s a small village of 800 people. I mean, 2000 surrounding area where a old Pentecostal church over 100 years old. And I would say when I came, my wife is brought up in that church. I was, I’ve been part of the church for 12, 11, 12 years. I came on board as a pastor six years ago, and I would say we were quite an introverted church and also would say dying church. We didn’t reach people. But little by little we are seeing people coming to the Lord. And we’ve seen a lot of increase in immigrants coming to our church, which is wonderful. So it’s, it’s a small, small village. We win one person at a time. So

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:44):
Talk to me about the challenges of doing evangelism in Sweden. You’re, you’re gifted as an evangelist, and so as an evangelist, you’re always looking for opportunities to, to lead people to Jesus. But the, the ground in Sweden, sometimes it can be very difficult.

Andreas Cucca (03:01):
Yeah. I mean, it is difficult sometimes, but I, I believe that the gospel has power to change anyone in any situation. So our, I would say our mindset as a church is a bigger obstacle than secularism or whatever you can throw at Sweden. I, I think our mindset, we’ve been stoked in a mindset that Swedish people are secular and so on. But I mean, if you just share the gospel, people are open to listen. And I think it’s changed a co Also, after Covid, we seen an increase in interest in, in spiritual matters also. So some years ago, I would say it was harder. I think it’s easy to, to share the gospel if you do it.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (03:42):
And you have a motto that’s on your hat right now, it says, open home, open heart, open heaven. What does that mean?

Andreas Cucca (03:51):
That means it’s from, from our family actually. We, we, we had, we say we want to live, our house should be an open home, home for people to don’t have any home or, or like rootless open hearts towards God. Of course, they would open to what God is saying, but also open to our society and to the people around us. And we believe that God is opened to heaven 2000 years ago when, when he died in the cross, it says that the veil was broken. So we believe that miracles can happen, that people can be changed through the gospel. And since I came on board as a church pastor, this also become our vision for our church as a church should be a home for people who have no home. An open home will feel with people with open heart towards God and our society, and, and that believe in an open head that everyone can be transformed by the gospel of Jesus. So that’s, that’s the main focus. And I believe it, it correlates if you have an open home, if you’re welcoming, if you’re openness towards people, people can come into you know, the presence of Jesus, and then they can experience the open heaven. So I think it, you have to have all parts.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:01):
In recent years, many immigrants have come to Sweden. Yeah. And it’s a little bit controversial because SW are very proud of their culture, very proud of their country, their language. And, and now all these people are coming, and, and Sweden has been very welcoming to them. Yeah. But it’s also been a challenge. But talk to me about how your church is responding to the challenge of immigrants and, and then what you’re doing to, to reach out to them and, and, and what God is doing. I

Andreas Cucca (05:31):
Mean, one part is, you know, politics is politics aside as a church, we are always, I mean, the Bible says, you know, we should welcome the immigrants regardless of our politics, political stems, the ones that are coming, we need to embrace. And, and we, we’ve said we want to be in a place for all nations, for all peoples. And, and this open home, I think some, some of our new new suites or immigrants, they have experienced that. They’ve actually said to me with some people from, from Congo came some years ago. They, they, they had 70 people from all over the world, Afghanistan, Congo Syria came to our small village. There was 30 apartments being built for people that arrived and have had a citizen like not a citizenship, but that they could stay in Sweden. And that, that was a controversial thing in our village because a lot of people are outright racist and, and some are very hesitant.

Andreas Cucca (06:31):
So we as a church and, and did a news like the, the local paper in the bigger town in our area did a, like an open home at the posters, you know, and we’re very happy. This is a good thing for our village. And from that, we got some hate mails and so on. But I mean, the people from abroad, they love our church because our church has responded very well. I’m proud of my church members, all church members, younger church members. They’ve embraced the new people coming in. And, and there’s been a change in culture, I would say. So now maybe half of our church is African, and some people come from Afghanistan. Sometimes we’ve seen Muslims come to come to the Lord. We’ve seen secular switch come coming to the Lord and so on. So I’m, I’m, I’m happy to see that there can be life in an old a hundred year old church.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (07:23):
I think the church needs to recognize the significance of this opportunity that God is giving us before people would have to go to the mission field. Yeah. Now the mission field is coming to us, and we have an opportunity to reach them for Jesus.

Andreas Cucca (07:39):
Yeah. I mean, we did like a big outreach. We handed out like 700 magazines with testimonies, my testimonies as the Don Testimonies about how we met Jesus. And we invited them to a day outside of our church. We had jumping castles for the kids. We had a big kids meeting with about 60 to 80 kids at the most. We about 150 people outside of our church that many of them have never stepped foot in our church. And when we had it out, 200 hamburgers, but most importantly, we shared the gospel testimonies some music known singer, she won like Sweden’s got Talent. She, she is a on fire believers. So she shared her testimony and, and some songs. And then we had a preacher Vanis preached and did Analar call and Free girls from Afghanistan raised their hands and say, We went to Jesus.

Andreas Cucca (08:27):
Their mother got healed in her neck. They’re not, they’re not disciples yet, but they’re leaning in towards, you know, our shared coming sometimes and so on. So, so it was a big, big thing for us. And actually, a Swedish guy just came right into our church from that meeting. He said, Because you were so open, we, I, I want to come because you opened up. You, you, you sent out the magazine, You did it publicly. You, you preached the gospel outside of your church. And during the pandemic, he had read the Bible, and now he’s come to a, a saving faith in Jesus. So every now and then he comes to my office. He works from home. So he comes to my office. Sometimes he has ask questions. And so, so next week we’ll start new course for new believers and, and people that are interested in the gospel.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (09:15):
This testimony of these three Afghan girls really moves me. My parents lived in Kabul, Afghanistan for the last 12 years. And now we have many Afghan refugees that have come to my hometown in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We have about 900 that are there. And so we’ve been helping them to get drivers license and to find housing and to have food. We’ve been helping them get in English classes. And even some of them have been given scholarships to some of the different colleges. And, and so we’ve been very involved in helping the Afghans that have come. And at Christmastime, we had 11 Afghans come over to our house for Christmas dinner. Wow. And we sang Christmas carols talked about the Chris, the Christmas story from both the, the Bible and from the Quran, cuz the Quran talks about how Issa was conceived by Miriam. And so at least that gives you a starting point to talk about Jesus. And we gave them all Christmas presents and had a wonderful time with them. And so we have a great heart for the Afghans that are the dispo that are, are now scattered all over the world. All right. You mentioned your testimony in the magazine. Tell me a little bit about your testimony. Yeah,

Andreas Cucca (10:32):
Man. I’m, I’m brought up in secular home in Sweden. I have no relationship with church, so on, so, so much. I had Christian friends, but I mean I was in my, th I was 13, 14. We began to go out partying, drinking some of my friends became criminals, you know, or picking cell phones and, you know, robbing peoples on. And I was on the outskirt outskirts of that gang or whatever. And I felt so empty on the inside, and I began to think about my life and is this everything school weekend, partying than job or university? And the job family, we working, we can, there’s there any, is there not nothing more? And I fell into a deep depression, and I began to think, contemplate about taking my life. And one time I was arguing with my mother because there’s no one that gets on my nerve so much as my mother.

Andreas Cucca (11:26):
I love her to death, but she can really drive me crazy. It’s my, my, my wife, my, my and my wife, my mother <laugh>, my, my brother and my eight year old daughter. They really know how to push the bottles. And my mother did it at the time and <laugh>, and she, I’m not sure what she said, but I said, Do you want me to kill myself? And the words that came out of my mouth, it became like, it just came back to me, and it just became like a cover over my heart and over my mind. And it was like a bondage that just happened there. And after that, I just, it was everything that just contemplated in my mind. And at the same time, I had a friend who invited me to church in the same right time. And he invited, invited me to a Lutheran church first.

Andreas Cucca (12:17):
And they had some friends in the Pentecostal church. They had youth meetings. And there I saw something that I didn’t see in my other friends. I saw light in their eyes, I saw joy, I saw peace. And I began to go to this charismatic Pentecostal church where they raised their hands and is saying about Jesus, talked about Jesus. And it’s weird. It was a weird, weird thing because it was so out of my regular life. It was not nothing that I had seen before, but I felt at peace there. So I continued to go there, and I stopped partying. And then I went to a youth camp. And that night I said to my friend, his name is Gusta, I said, Gusta, we need to get saved. I’m not sure if he was born again or not, but if he was not, he came with me and we prayed a prayer for salvation with our, the youth pastor.

Andreas Cucca (13:05):
And during that prayer I didn’t know what to do with my hands, lift my hands, you know, so many things to do in church <laugh> and, and I was really new, but I, I, I, I just did like this with my hands. And I closed my eyes and he prayed, and I repeated a prayer. And as I repeated, I said, Thank you for forgive. He’s forgive my sins. And thank you that you took, took my sins. And he took my darkness and so on. And as I prayed his prayer and I was closing my eyes, it was like, there was two beams from a big, a big truck just hit the flooding. My face was dark in the room. It was like in, in the evening time. And it was a, but still, it was like a big, big light just flashing in my eyes, even when I was closing my eyes.

Andreas Cucca (13:54):
And it was like a piece that came over me. And, and the, the, the lead on my heart and, and the bondage, you know, in my head just run. He just went away. It washed away in one second. And I stood there for 10 minutes, and I just knew it was not just me and the youth pastor there, Someone was there. And I said to you, Pastor, he was here. And he was like, Yeah, yeah, yeah. I cooled down. And I was like, How can you be cool down if God in heaven is in the room? So from that time, I, I just always filled with peace. A couple of weeks later, I always realized, I am, I am not have done a suicidal faults. From that time, I just began to share about Jesus. I actually, when I came home from the camp, I said to my mother, mother, I’m saved now. And she came, she was really, really touched. Five years later, she got baptized. I actually baptized her in our church. So from that time, it’s only been evangelism for me and to share the gospel because Jesus really, he took me from darkness to lights. And I, I believe he can do it for anyone.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (14:57):
Amen. What a beautiful testimony. Let’s talk about Bangladesh. You’ve been working there about 15 years now. What have you seen God do in that nation?

Andreas Cucca (15:07):
Well, I’ve seen, I mean, from, I’ve seen people getting their lives, lives transformed. I remember one girl, she’s name, her name is Star. She came to our campaign was maybe 6,000 people there. She saw testimonies of healings. You know, one girl had a cancer tumor that was visible in the back, that just shrunk away. And she saw a lot of these kind of things, and she heard the gospel, and she didn’t receive her healing. So for three days, she was in the, in, in the crowd. And on the way back, you know, that, that message hit her because she prayed, Jesus, why am I not heal? And then she has prayed, Jesus, forgive me of my sins. And at that time, she, she gets so a vision of Jesus hanging on the cross, says, I my daughter, I see you, I forgive you, and I healed you.

Andreas Cucca (15:53):
And then she says, I felt so light on the inside. And, and her knee that was broken got healed. And she, she came back and testified. And I mean, and this is one of thousands, tens of thousands of people have received Jesus. And hundreds of churches has been planted during the years in that movement. We’re working with their church planting movement. In the last years we’ve seen several hundred churches about, now it’s 468 churches at the moment, as statistics days, 468. But I mean, it’s a movement of people receiving Jesus and an openness to the gospel, both Hindus and Muslims.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (16:33):
Talk to me about the strategy of this church planting movement. How does it work?

Andreas Cucca (16:39):
I mean, we have had, we, we, we do campaigns, gospel outreaches, you know, open air campaigns, preaching the gospel, praying for the sake. And, and, and from that, churches are planted. So, for example, if, if they want to plant a church in say, three different places, well, we, we pick a spot in between those places. We do a campaign and we bring people from free different villages or different areas into the campaign. We preach the gospel to them, they see Jesus, and then from then they go back to their villages and they will send out church planters to that places. So every time we do a campaign, we do it in a strategic place. So we can start three to four churches every time. So it’s every time it’s about where do you want to, do they want to start churches and where is it possible to do it? And then we do it. So, so the campaigns is not, it is not, not something we do just for the sake of it. We do it as a, a kickstart for church planting.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (17:42):
And so, over the years that you and ACE, the Association of Campaign Evangelists have been working in Bangladesh, how many campaigns have you done?

Andreas Cucca (17:52):
Well, I’m not sure. I probably in probably 60 plus at least. But I mean, and

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (18:00):
So these are not all in the same place or in the big cities, You’re going town to town, village to village, Yeah.

Andreas Cucca (18:05):
I mean, there can be really, really small places. And I mean, we’re in a small town village and there were about 5,000 in the village. And, and at the campaign we had 5,000 people. So everybody came. And I mean, that’s a

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (18:19):
Good campaign. Yeah. If you get a hundred percent of the population to come, that’s, that’s massive.

Andreas Cucca (18:23):
Yeah. And I mean, in one direction where one moskin, one direction, you want another mo one. So when we came to that village, they said, Are you from Egypt? Because they thought that we were from media people. They been financing mosques there. But a lot of people came to the Lord in that place. It’s called Bury. And there’s other places also we preached outside of Mo quite close to the mosques. And people are happy to receive the gospel. Yeah. But we are both, I mean, mostly in the outskirts, in the in the bush areas, in the, in the, in the smaller villages, not so much in the big cities. It’s first and foremost, it’s harder to do in the bigger towns. And also there are churches in the bigger towns. So we don’t need to do it there. We do it where it’s needed.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (19:12):
So you have a calling on your life to be an evangelist. You’re also serving as a pastor. How do you balance these two different callings and the needs of both?

Andreas Cucca (19:26):
I don’t <laugh> or I think it flows into a ch because before I was the pastor of our church, we actually we were the church missionaries, me and my wife. And I would say that the things I do because I believe in the local church, I’m sent out by my church as the missionary. So everything that I do, I do out from my local church. But of course, you know, time wise, I have to know plan a little bit. So I don’t, I’m not away too much because I need to tend to my ship at home. But I mean, it’s, it’s, it’s, it’s manageable. And I think it’s, to be a local church pastor helps me to be a good missionary and to be out in, out, to be a missionary evangelist helps me to become a good pastor because we, we need both. We need to, to do the outreach. We need to take care of people. And I think when I talk to church leaders in, in Bangladesh, for example, I know their struggles. I know how it is to, you know, help people. And when people come with their problems and, you know so I think it, it’s, it’s good. It’s good to be both pastor and evangelists.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (20:40):
That’s wonderful. Well, thank you so much for being on the Evangelism podcast. I really appreciate it.

Andreas Cucca (20:45):
Thank you very much. It’s an honor. And yeah, just wanted to say to, to the, to the people listening that, I mean, if you have a calling on your life, run with it. There are so many people, Bangladeshis Open, and many pe places are open for the gospel. So if you feel encouraged by this, you know, reach out to Daniel and, and, and he will probably help you in the right direction.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (21:12):
Amen. I want to go to Bangladesh now, hearing about all the testimonies of, of what God has done there. It’s, it’s so wonderful. Thank you so much. God

Andreas Cucca (21:20):
Bless you. Thank you, Daniel. Thanks

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (21:22):

Evangelism Podcast Host (00:38):
Welcome to the evangelism podcast with Dr. Daniel King, where Daniel interviews, full-time evangelists, pastors, missionaries, and normal everyday Christians to discover how they share their faith, their powerful testimonies, and amazing stories that will inspire you to reach people with the good news. And now here’s your host missionary and Daniel King.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:02):
Welcome to the evangelism podcast. I’m Daniel King, and I’m excited about telling people about Jesus today. I have a special friend with me from the nation of Indonesia evangelist, Andres, thank you for being on the evangelism podcast today.

Andres Hartanto (01:18):
Thank you for everything for the invitation and for being with Pastor Daniel King.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:26):
So you have worked in Indonesia for many years. You are from Indonesia. Can you begin by telling us about the nation of Indonesia?

Andres Hartanto (01:37):
Well, Indonesia is one of the largest Muslim country, but there are a lot of also Christian people over there. And from the statistic, we know that the many, many years ago, Christian people only amount to 5%, but by no, it could have been around 20% because government statistic only shows something like 10%. The statistic run by some judges prove that number of Christian people can be 20% by now. And of course, Indonesia consists of a lot of island, 13,700 islands with big five big islands, Summa JFA BOSI and Papua.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:43):
So Indonesia is a huge harvest field. There are so many people there that need Jesus and your ministry has been going from island to island from city to city, preaching the gospel, telling people about Jesus. Talk to me about the spiritual need in the nation of ind Indonesia. Are the people hungry for God?

Andres Hartanto (03:11):
Yes, you are correct completely. We see that actually many of a education people, regardless of their basic religions, they are very much sick and God. And for Christians people, especially after this coffee, 19 PMI we believe that they are very hungry and some other people also they are trying to find gods and that’s the opportunity to preach the gospel of God and to realize the Greek commission of Jesus Christ, all Indonesia.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (03:53):
Talk to me about your strategy for doing crusade meetings in Indonesia. How do you mobilize the local churches? How do you get people to come?

Andres Hartanto (04:08):
Yes. we basically work with many churches of many denominations because if we work only with one, two denomination, we cannot gather a lot of people. So that’s why we base our mission on the all community, the many churches basis. And we set up a local committee this consists of many churches of local judges, and we know that they, they got the problem of finance basically because to gather people and to bring them to the one big location, to arrange permit, to arrange everything sometime you also provide food and all those things, we need the some amount of money. That’s why we have to gather some financial sources coming from people got the children who believes in the same faith to do the Greek commission all over the nation. And then we set up the committee with the local churches and we gave them authority to gather people they brought from their own and from neighboring neighboring people of their congregation. And then we supported the transportation costs. Sometimes we also supported some, some food costs for them so that we could attend the meeting with the, without burden, without the financial burden.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (06:01):
How long do your meetings usually last are they one day, two days, five days.

Andres Hartanto (06:08):
We used to conduct the meeting, the Cruset for two days mostly, but sometime three days with one day seminar and very well, we conducted only one day because we did that in the weekend. So we use Saturday and Sunday as our basis for meeting performance.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (06:32):
And are your meetings open to people of all religions? Are they open to, to Christians and Hindus and Muslims?

Andres Hartanto (06:41):
The Crussade were open for everybody with all backgrounds? Of course not only Christian, but also from other religions, they could come and also they could join us. So usually the local people, local churches, they brought some people from their neighbors and their friends to gather. And then also some people who happened to have houses around the soccer field, where we conducted the meeting, they gathered as well because they saw some kind of festival and they would like to see and to join

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (07:26):
Now, what is the Indonesian word for crusade? What, what do you call it?

Andres Hartanto (07:32):
We call it Kiki R abbreviation of que Kahan means the congregation to raise the spiritual level.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (07:48):
So a meeting to raise the, the spiritual level of the people. Right. And, and how do you say it again?

Andres Hartanto (07:55):
KA Uhhuh.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (07:58):
Now you have conducted more than 200 meetings across all of Indonesia in every single district and all the different islands. Tell me, how did you first get started in doing this type of ministry?

Andres Hartanto (08:20):
It was actually my ridiculous, because my background and my wife, we were actually just ordinary people and we work, I work as engineer, my wife work also in the bank, but we did the tri we did visit to Israel in 1998, where at the time there was the Asian economic crisis. And in Israel, we met the Reverend, the pastor that we didn’t know, but he came to us and he told my wife that he got to fishing about us and mentioning that our Lord Jesus Christ was standing. And beside him, it was a map of I Donia. And Lord Jesus pointed from Subang to mechi Subang is the, the author, most of the Western part of I Donia and mechi is at the Eastern part of Indonesia. So when we asked, what is the meaning of that? He couldn’t mention, he said he didn’t know, but it was what he saw. So finally we prayed, we prayed, we prayed. And then we got understanding that we had to go to preach the gospel of God, the great commission all over Donia. And that’s why finally we met the, some pastors, some people gods, man that had the same faith and same hungs to preach the gospel of God, all of Indonesia. So we finally gathered some people who who were able to perform then.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (10:26):
And tell me about what results you’ve seen at these crusade meetings. You, you pray for the sick to be healed. You pray for people to be saved. And then the local churches are involved in helping to follow up on the, the new believers. So, so tell me what results have been reported to you from these meetings? We

Andres Hartanto (10:51):
Conducted the meeting and usually after the votes of God, we call the people to the author of God. And we always saw many, many people came usually from 10%, until more than 50% people came to the author. And many of them, us for healings, for economic condition, for touching of God, for suffering God, and also asking to be baptized basically. And we prayed one by one because we came with a team and sometime our team consists of more than 10 people. So we split together with also the local Reverend local pastors. We prayed for them under finish, and we have seen some mys happen. I myself at the first time, I, I couldn’t believe what God had done at that time, because I saw personally that apply people suddenly could heal, could be heal and could see. And I tested myself.

Andres Hartanto (12:18):
So he couldn’t see the number. I showed him my fingers, 1, 2, 3 until five, and he could mention the correct number. So everybody surrounding me at that time was suddenly pressing God. And I, I knew that it was actually my record that had happened in front of my eyes. Also some little girl. The first time I met him, I met her. She was actually deaf and couldn’t speak anywhere after we prayed several times and I asked her to speak something. It was only his sing sound coming out from, from her mode. But finally I said, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. And she tried to admit it. She, she Jesus, after sometime finally she said, Jesus. So it was actually a great time for us because it was the, the first that we saw miracles that happen. And it was also nothing less than what happened in the gospel. So for us, it was the present of God. And also that God bless our meeting and our surface.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (13:53):
What is your prayer for Indonesia? What would you like to see God do in the nation of Indonesia?

Andres Hartanto (14:04):
I believe that Indonesia is one of the nation blessed by God, because freedom for Christian people are there. And also we conducted so many Crues without problem, basically only origin, some permits and some spots for the local churches. Then it could happen that we, so the hungriness of the people must be fulfilled as also our Jesus, our gods already said that there are a lot of rice fit’s already ready for the harvest, but the problem is there are only few people who can harvest the rice fit. So it is our calling and it is also your calling to involve and to participate directly and indirectly to give support to the evangelization, especially in Indonesia, because we have more than 260 million people, and many of them, they still live under their own beliefs. And they do do know Jesus Christ, even if they know they still do not believe him as the savior as Messiah for them

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (15:55):
Evangelist, Andres, the name of your ministry is new Jerusalem evangelism. And if someone is interested in contacting your ministry or praying for you they can connect with you with your, your WhatsApp number, which is plus 62 8 8 8 8 5 0 3 3 0 3 brother. Thank you so much for being on the evangelism podcast. It is amazing what God is doing through you. And I’m so encouraged to hear these stories of what God is doing in the nation of Indonesia. My wife and I have been to Indonesia several times, my, my wife used to work for a Canadian evangelist. And so she went to Indonesia several times to help organize events for him. And then I’ve done three different crusade events in different parts of Indonesia. And I fell in love with the people of Indonesia, such beautiful people, and they are loved by God. So much that in the, the culture is, is so rich. The history of Indonesia is so rich. And I believe that Jesus loves Indonesia very much. And, and I believe that all of Indonesia is for Jesus and Jesus is for all of Indonesia. Amen.

Andres Hartanto (17:24):
I mean, yes.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (17:25):
Well, let’s finish by praying for the people of Indonesia, brother, would you lead us in a prayer for Indonesia to come to know Jesus

Andres Hartanto (17:37):
Let’s pray, father God, in the name of Lord Jesus Christ. We are happy for this being togetherness for this opportunity to broadcast words of God conducted by pastor Daniel King, man of God. We thank you for everything for the anointing, for the words of God, for the discussion and for all the people who happen to hear this broadcasting, blast them block and move them, know them as well. So that all the people that you want to reach will be able to participate in the Greek commission. And we are praying that you yourself will bless Indonesia because Indonesia actually is one of the country that give freedom to all people, to worship their own God. And that’s freedom also to preach the gospel. So we pray that your blessing and your love will cover all parts of Indonesia.

Andres Hartanto (19:12):
And during this heart situation and condition, especially economically yet you touch your people. You bring them, you save them. You are bring for the selfish vision of many people who are looking for their God who are looking for the truth, that your blessing will come up on them. And you withdraw to yourself and you Lord, and your strong hand, we submit our nation, our beloved people, our beloved country, that your power will be up on us and to give our nation also salvation from the economic troubles and the selfish and for the eternal life to be together with you bless all the people of Indonesia. Thank you lot. And the name of Jesus, we are already pray. Amen.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (20:30):
Amen. Thank you brother. Andres. Thanks so much for listening today. I am excited about telling people about Jesus. It’s a pleasure brother Dan, I, I just after going to Cuba with you, I’m looking so much forward to doing this interview with you.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:10):
You have been a missionary for many years. You’ve been working in Ecuador, in Cuba and Columbia recently, how did you originally become a missionary?

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (01:21):
Well, we were when my wife and I accepted Jesus in 1997, August 3rd, actually in Branson air or Branson west, Missouri. And the pastor there would always bring in these guest speakers and the late Jim Zekel came to the church several times and he spoke about missionaries and my wife and I looked at each other after the second visit and said, that’s us, we’re missionaries. That’s what our calling is.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:48):
And then what steps did you take in order to actually go to the mission field?

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (01:53):
Well like I said, we got born again in 1997, in 1999. The Lord spoke to me very clearly and said, I am sending you to the Spanish speaking countries. And I said, Lord, I don’t speak Spanish. And he says, I didn’t say you speak Spanish. I said, I’m sending you to the Spanish speaking countries. And so I have done now, including my numerous trips to the jungle in Ecuador, I’ve done 173 give or take mission trips all to Spanish speaking countries.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:22):
Wow. That’s amazing. And for quite a few years, you were down in Ecuador and working even out in the jungles with some of the, the people out there. Tell me a little bit, what was Ecuador like?

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (02:34):
Well in a, in a, in a phrase Ecuador living there for seven and a half years was like living in the United States in the 1950s. That’s what it reminded me of how we got there. We had several people prophesy that we would go there in, in 2010 and before we really had a dream and a vision that we would be living and going as missionaries permanently in Columbia. So when Ecuador came up, it was we knew it was neighboring to Columbia, but we didn’t know much about it, but the city was actually named to us where we would be. And so we sold our house, we sold our cars, we sold everything, gave our furniture away. And with two cases in a backpack, we, we went to Ecuador in obedience to what the Lord was telling us to do.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (03:19):
Now you’re actually writing a book about an experience that you had in Ecuador. And you came to me about a year and a half ago, maybe two years ago. And you just showed me an outline of the book that God had placed in your heart. And then just a, a couple of nights ago, you gave me a flash drive and said, Daniel, now the book is written. And so I was able to encourage you a little bit with the, the writing and, and talk to me a little bit about that process of of writing the book and, and

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (03:53):
Well it was actually, I believe it was three years ago that you and I went to Cuba together and spent about two and a half weeks there, I believe. And as I recall, and before I went to Cuba, I had, I had been in Columbia and came back to United States and then met you. And we went into Cuba. And before I got to Cuba, the Lord says, when you return from Cuba, you will write the book that I have planted in you from the, my time in the jungle in Ecuador.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (04:22):
All right. Just really briefly give me a short synopsis of the book. What happened? What’s the big event in the book?

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (04:29):
Well, the big event is a 23 hour period that took place on December 28th, 2015. When I had an accident in the jungle with my car. It was a van actually. And two people died and I was held responsible by the indigenous people and they took the law under their, under the indigenous law’s hands. And they, they put me on trial that night for the death of one of, one of the, one of the family members. And my judge and jury were six members of this Schwar group, the father daughter, two aunts. And I believe there was uncle and a brother and they were my jury and, and judge. And if they gave me thumbs down, I was dead. There was 150 men warriors there that were standing around with machete in one hand and a candle in the other, cuz there was no lights out there and there was a dead body laying there in the road and they were judging me whether I was responsible for this and the, if I, the thumbs would’ve been down those machetes would’ve cut me to ribbons.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:37):
And so you listened to the holy spirit, the holy spirit helped you in that situation. And obviously you weren’t killed. You survived.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (05:45):
Obviously I’m here. Aren’t I <laugh> in the flesh right here. Yes, it was when I was in the, in the police car and that truck actually was a little pickup. I had handcuffs on and, and I was, and the pastor who was with us from the United States said to me, he grabbed my arm before we got in the car and he said, Lee, two things. He said, one, you did nothing wrong. Cuz he was in the car when the accident happened. And he said, the number two is always pray in the spirit. And so that’s what I was doing is I was riding in the, in the police truck. And I was praying in the spirit. The policeman says, what are you doing? And I says, I’m praying. And he says, I don’t recognize that that’s not Spanish. That’s not English.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (06:25):
And I says, I’m praying in the spirit. You probably do not understand it. And so as we stopped at the scene, as we returned to the scene, the policeman came, was coming around to get me outta the backseat. And I heard the holy spirit speak to me very clearly. He said, what do you need now? And so I said, I need Spanish now, better than I’ve ever spoken it. And I, I had no idea what the situation was involved. I didn’t know why I was being returned there. I didn’t know anything about that. And as he took me out of the car, I saw what was before me. And he grabbed me by the arm and said, speak to him, the six people, family members that were lined up there. And if I hadn’t been able to speak Spanish as clearly, and as well as I did for that next 10 minutes, I wouldn’t be sitting here.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (07:17):
God has also opened up doors for you to go into the nation of Cuba. For, in some ways Cuba is a very closed nation, but at the same time, people are very hungry for God in the nation of Cuba. And so tell me a little bit about your most recent trip to Cuba and some of the doors that, that, that God is opening up

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (07:41):
There. Oh yes. We just returned from Cuba last month. My wife and I went down on direction of the holy spirit. He said now is the time go. And so we went in, we had our papers and everything in order within three weeks and we were in Cuba again. And it was a perfect timing. We did not have a religious visa this time. And we spoke we, we met a person who we had, or we met up with a person who had met earlier on an earlier trip. His he was a, a Bishop over a group of 84, 85 churches in Cuba. And so we stayed at his, his house and, and preached in his church. And we just had a, you know, a tremendous time with him when we bonded so closely with him.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (08:26):
And he introduced us to some other people who were involved in a new movement in Cuba with the non-denominational or independent churches, it’s brand new. They’ve only been in existence for not very many years. I don’t know exactly, but not many they’re growing very quickly and they have a lot of people have joining them because they’re able to preach as the holy spirit directs them, not as man is directing them. And this is a whole new way of thinking in Cuba. And we joined up with a leader. We met the leader in, in, in, in invited by him to speak to his leaders. And we spoke on the holy spirit. The movement was incredible. Three different women came up in prophesied and said that we are part my wife and I are part of the movement of the, the, the revival that is breaking out in Cuba, starting in east of the island and, and moving westerly.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (09:19):
And so we’re returning there again in November this time with a religious visa the doors were the trust and the confidence was really tremendous for us this time, because this was actually our 22nd visit to Cuba. And people don’t go back there that often <laugh> normally only most people go once or maybe twice, but we’ve been there over the last 20 20 years, 22 times. And we spoke only about the holy spirit. The people we spoke this time were primarily born again, full believers, and they were so hungry for the word of God, based on the teach, the, the teachings we, we shared with them on the holy spirit. We didn’t even preach how and why you should re baptize with the holy spirit. We just told ’em the benefits and the, and how wonderful it is. Quoted some scriptures like you know, that in like Romans 8, 26, you know, we talked to ’em about that a bit and several other scriptures.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (10:15):
And, and, and I says, do you want, this? Is this what you’d like to have? And they’d say, yes, yes, they’d stand up and shout. And we didn’t even have to go through any processes. All I would say is there’s only three things required at this point. You have to be a believer and we’ve already had the alter call for salvation. 100% of you are eligible. Now, all you have to do is believe and receive it. And they were so hungry, I would say 80% time after time started speaking in tongues, clearly without any real instructions, just letting the holy spirit work through him. It was, it was so beautiful.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (10:48):
We have a lot of people who listen to the evangelism podcast who are missionaries working on the mission field, and you’ve worked on the mission field for a long time. And you’ve faced dangerous situations, difficult situations, situations where there was lack situations where there were disputes among different believers. And so you’ve learned to listen very closely to the holy spirit and allow him to, to lead you and, and guide you in ministry. And, and so talk to someone who maybe is, is on the mission field a a about how to tap into the holy spirit wisdom that you need in order to stay on the mission field.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (11:32):
Well, it’s important that we realize right up front that the holy spirit that lives in us and we’ve given the authority to guide us, is that you surrender to him. You know, I, I spent 28 years in the military and I understand obedience. And, and when he speaks or gives you that small, quiet, urging you obey and do what he says, that’s important. We first have to be obedient. We don’t question it. We know that it’s the right thing that we’re hearing, you know, and sometimes it’s, it’s a lot more direct depending on the situation, but most of the time, it’s that still quiet voice. And you say, well, how do you recognize him? It just feels like you’re hearing him in every cell in your body. It doesn’t, it’s not an audible normally sometimes at very seldom. It is, but it’s, it’s that at that ction we speak about, it’s just, this is right.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (12:22):
It seems right in acts chapter 15, three times there, it says, he says, it seemed right. It seemed the holy spirit was doing this, and that’s the word I like about it. It seems right in Spanish. We were, we set it all the time down there, pot. It seems right. And that’s, that’s how it is. And you know, example that when it was a real, a real audible voice when I was in the jungle in Ecuador, it was it was in an area that there were no other missionaries. And, and we would go out to the, the far, far villages. We had to, we had to get to many of ’em by a river. That was nearly, I mean, it was, it was the bridge going across it. If you walked, it was nearly a quarter mile and it was very large river.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (13:04):
And when it rained, the river was full, it was dangerous. There were rocks in there. It was rapids areas. And one time we were returning from a village and we were in these little dugout canoes, and, and we had all of our equipment in there. Our speakers, everything was with us. And I had two other missionaries with me. One was from Ecuador and the other was from the United States and we get in the boat and it starts raining and the water is coming down and falling in the boat. We couldn’t get it out and BA it out fast enough. And our boat was probably only an inch, inch and a half above the water. And, and, and, and they said, what do we do? What do we do? Do we throw the speakers overboard? Should we throw all the equipment? And I said, holy spirit, what do we do?

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (13:42):
What do we do? And right away, I heard very clearly pray in the spirit. That’s all he said, pray in the spirit. And so I said, don’t worry about it. Just start praying in the spirit. And all three of us did. And we, and the driver, just all of a sudden makes a turn and shoots across the river, gets over to the other side, the wide river. And we safely made it back. But it, it was, it was nothing we could do. We could keep bailing water, but we were gonna lose that race. We, we prayed in the spirit, we were obedient and that was what we were supposed to do. And he would get us safely there.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (14:13):
Give me some more stories about times when the holy spirit spoke to you.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (14:19):
Well, on this trip to Cuba we prepared and, and had all of our equipment together. And we, we take in about 60, 70 pounds of, of medical supplies antibiotics that, that they only read about. They never seen. And, and we, we got a very good source of them from, in, you know, from Tulsa and we, we get the medications. And and, and so we, what we do with those is we, we sponsor a children’s leukemia hospital. We work with them and, and, and get that to the hospital and it saves lives. But we, the praying for is probably more important. I, I believe so. And as we were getting ready, we, we get closer to the time. And I had said, holy spirit, what, what messages, what do you want me to talk about? And I kept hearing it’s okay, just be calm.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (15:04):
I’ve got it under control. I just, that’s what I felt day after day after day. And I really didn’t as we went to Cuba, cuz once you get there, your activities in Columbia and other places, as you well know this as traveling internationally yourself, you don’t have time to prepare messages when you get there, you have to have it inside you or on paper before you get there. And so I just kept, you know, I had peace. He just says, it’s okay, I’ve got it under control. And we got in there on Thursday and Friday, the next day we took off and we went and stayed at the Bishop’s place. And we were gonna, and Sunday comes and since we didn’t have a religious visa and we were visiting, I just was calm about it. And 30 minutes before the service starts, he says, I’d like you to share today a message.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (15:47):
And I, and I hadn’t prepared any messages yet. And he says, I I’ll, I’ll maybe 10 minutes. And then he comes back to me. He says, well, I’m only gonna speak a little bit. You take half the service. And then, so I quickly wrote out on a piece of paper. I says, holy spirit, give me the message. And I just made some quick notes. He, he just dropped it down on me and because he said he had it under control, gave me the message. And then when he gets up there ready to speak, he only, he only speaks 10 minutes and he gives me the service <laugh>. So if I hadn’t counted on the holy spirit in that situation, I mean, I, he gave me the correct message. We had a baptism with the spirit and everybody who was not speaking in tongues, it was virtually a hundred percent of everybody left and it was the right message. It was listening to the holy spirit

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (16:31):
Right now. We are at convention together, the international convention of faith ministries. Yeah, I CFM. And you are one of the, the international directors for them and, and helping to plant different chapters in different nations. And so you’ve brought a whole group from Columbia and from Chile and from other countries. Talk to me a little bit about the conferences that you’ve put together in Columbia and Ecuador. And for those listening, maybe share what I CFM is all about and, and why someone should be involved. Sure.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (17:09):
This ICF M was formed in 1979 by pastor Kenneth Hagen and 16 other pastors that in met in Tulsa and said, we have discovered this faith message we’re preaching it. We’re put in intent ministries and many people are healing. They were going out from Tulsa to many areas and they said, what, what do we need to do as a group to take this message to the world? And now we are here. Now we’re here 43, 44 years later. I took that seriously what our forefathers said. And so as a missionary, I’m really honored to be a part of I C F M to be taking this message of faith to the nations. And so my wife and I oh, about three or four years ago, after serving as the national directors in Ecuador we moved back and to the United States. And so they asked me to be if I would be the international associate director. So I travel and do three, four missions trips a year, and I’m always preaching on faith. I do, I, you know, my message like yours is salvation baptism with the spirit and divine healing, you know, that’s keep it simple, keep it straight and, and and, and see the results as the holy spirit has got the open doors to,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (18:22):
Let me just ask you a question on the mission field. Do people need faith?

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (18:27):
Oh, absolutely. As missionaries. Oh my goodness. I wouldn’t go without the holy spirit or with faith. And the two are like this it’s holy spirit faith. And so it fits together like a glove. It fits together like the holy spirit inside you. And

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (18:39):
How does the, the faith message impact the, the people that you’re ministering to in these different countries? Well,

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (18:46):
I, if, you know, you can preach on faith and, and, you know, it says in, in Romans eight, 17, no yeah. 10, 17, I’m sorry. <Laugh> 10, 17. It says faith comes by hearing. So we’re, we’re carriers of the faith message and, and, and we we’re job is to increase their level of faith so they can receive, and salvation is the greatest, greatest act of faith. We can, we can actually be a part of

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (19:13):
Amen. Well, the name of your ministry is knowing him. Yes. And if someone would be interested in having you and your, your dynamite wife, Lauren, come to their church and share some stories about missions how could they get in touch with you? Well,

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (19:30):
Our, our email address, the best way to reach us is L Feld icloud.com. That’s L S a a L F E L D, which is our last name, icloud.com. We will respond immediately to that. Right now our website is not up. So we are, we’re not operating through that. We have a phone number in, in Branson. You can call me at (417) 559-0959. And we’ll be glad to discuss anything with you on that. And and, and our, our PO box that we receive all our ministry mail is, is PO box 6, 4 58 in Branson, Missouri O at 6 5, 605. And so that’s our address, phone number and, and our email address.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (20:19):
All right. I coach a lot of evangelists and help them out with different things. And so one thing I would like to say is you need a website, so you can cover all that just on, on one website, and then your, your, your book is coming out soon. And, and so people will be able to get your book and, and read stories about the, how God sets you free in one of the worst situations someone could be in.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (20:44):
Yes, the book is entitled the, the machete and the cross. And thanks to you. We have the cover designed, it’s been written. I’m very, very pleased with that. And you’ve reviewed the book and I’m getting ready to send it to a publisher. So the holy spirit spoke to me about the book. Once again, after he directed me to have it written and thanks to you brother Daniel for coaching me through the early stages of it and how to set up everything, the way I, the way it was done properly. And, and I’m really honored for the nice words you said about the final version. The Lord spoke to me again, as I said, and he said to you will not sell this book. You will, you will take only offerings for the book. And every offering that comes in will go into the ministry into knowing him and making him known and be used for soul winning activities.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (21:38):
Awesome. Well, I’m excited that I was able to be a part of, of helping to encourage you to, to write the book. Thank you. And thank you so much for being on the evangelism podcast. I, I really hope very soon to be able to go back to Cuba with you yes. To go to Columbia, to go to Ecuador. There’s so many different places that are hungry for more of God. And so I look forward to being with you somewhere on the mission field against it. So I add

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (22:02):
One more thing in Columbia in, in last year in October, pastor Nelson, Navarro from the church that he’s over the church Rayma and in Bogota, it’s a very large church. He has a missions team there that he’s in this in training 43 students in his church that are training to be missionaries. And so I’m really kind of a coach. When I go down there, I’m leaving in three weeks to spend six weeks down there, coaching these new students, taking ’em out in the field and teaching them about missions in the, in the wild, you know, in the rough areas, terrain some of ’em be jungles. Some of ’em be pretty, pretty tough areas. And while we’re doing this, we there’s this one village we go to it’s called Veta for 42 years. That village was under the control of the far, which is the communist regime in, in Columbia.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (22:50):
And it’s a dangerous area. And I was the first person to return there from the United States in 42 years last year. And while I was there, I had this vision that this was an area that would be an excellent area for training and raising up missionaries. And it turned out that the pastor of the church, our Arsenio had the same vision and Nelson pastor Nelson also had the same vision. And so we had gotten together, we did a really, really good interview with pastor Arsenio and how he was in when he was in the park before and how the Lord changed his life. And so we we’ve determined that we’re going to build a missions training center there to bring international missionaries, primarily from the Spanish speaking countries of south and central America to this area, train them up and send them not only out to Columbia, but to the other back to their countries, other countries as the Lord sends them and, and directs ’em in their visions. So we’re, we’re, we’re working when I return. We’re gonna be looking at how we can put that together and make it work to build this international missions training center right out there in the near jungle areas.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (23:54):
That’s awesome. Well, praise the Lord. That’s a wonderful vision, and I know it will have a big impact on south America. So brother Lee, thank you, God bless you.

Missionary Lee Saalfeld (24:04):
It is a pleasure. Thank you. Thank you for the opportunity.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (24:06):

And now here’s your host, missionary and evangelist Daniel King.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:07):
Welcome to the evangelism podcast. I’m Daniel King, and I’m excited about telling people about Jesus today. We have a very special guest with us, Mrs. Simone Puccinelli thank you so much for being on the evangelism podcast.

Simone Puccinelli (01:21):
Thank You for having me here. I’m very excited.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:24):
Simone has been a friend of our family for many years. I think we originally met you on a trip to Jamaica. Maybe we met your family.

Simone Puccinelli (01:36):
Okay. Yeah, I would probably have only been about like eight years old. So I don’t remember exactly. You’re

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:42):
Not ate eight any longer, but

Simone Puccinelli (01:43):
I don’t remember, you know what? Because me and your brother are about the same age. And I remember when we were like five or six, you came out to our house. Me and your brother were five and six years old. So I’m pretty sure I was pretty, I don’t remember our family not being friends. So,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:02):
And you are a very impressive young lady because God put it on your heart to start a ministry, which is called Simone’s kids and you are helping children in the nation of Uganda. So tell me about that. How did you get interested in helping children in Uganda?

Simone Puccinelli (02:25):
Well Daniel, I was really as a child drawn to helping other kids in need. And when I would hear those stories, it was just something that my heart was really drawn to, to be compassionate towards. And when I was 12, actually got the call to be a missionary. And so I, you know, begged my parents to let me go on mission trips. And I actually went on a mission trip with you when I was in middle school to Haiti in the Dominican Republic.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:58):
I remember that trip to Haiti. That was a, a great crusade. Thousands of people came, but it was a very difficult trip. I remember that the food was horrible. It was hot. The living conditions were horrible. They told us that the, the chicken that we were eating, our marathon running chickens, it was like eating beef jerky. It was not like soft KFC chicken, ubut uyou went on the mission trip with us and

Simone Puccinelli (03:24):
I did, and we endured the heat and I was still a gymnast back there. So I got to do flips and make the whole crowd very excited. And I witnessed a lot of miracles firsthand and like that was hard, but, you know, I loved it. And so I went on more trips to Africa and just really got involved with learning from others how they do ministry, how it works logistically. And then in college, I got connected with a couple in Uganda through a connection that I did know, and basically they had been born and raised and were local people trying to help out the street, children in their community. And God just really laid it on my heart to help them. And so I went over there and saw the need and saw God’s heart and for the kids’ lives. And I saw the, you know, the enemy really coming in and trying to tell them that they were worthless and, you know, basically kill still and destroy their lives and just, I could not do it cuz God wanted, you know, God wanted me to do it. So that’s how it was birthed.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (04:38):
Now, when God first put it on your heart to give money, to help children in Uganda, how much were you able to raise like the first month that you tried to, to raise money?

Simone Puccinelli (04:51):
So the initial email conversations was around $500 to cover the rent for the building. So the school could stay open. The, the couple had started.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:02):
And at that time you were still a college student.

Simone Puccinelli (05:05):
I Was a sophomore in college.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:06):
And so raising $500 is phenomenal, is huge for a college student.

Simone Puccinelli (05:12):
It, so I would say it, it took me several months, three, three or three or four months. Yeah. Yeah.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:17):
And now the school has grown there. Many teachers you have over a thousand children now is that? Yeah.

Simone Puccinelli (05:26):
So when I got there, we were probably working with like 60 to 80. I didn’t get a official head count back then. And now we are working with over a thousand children

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:36):
And how many teachers are helping to teach the,

Simone Puccinelli (05:39):
We have 120 staff and they’re all local.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:42):
And where is Simone’s kids located in Uganda?

Simone Puccinelli (05:46):
It’s in the district of NA Coste. And so that’s really north of the capital central, the central ish area, but it’s in a remote village.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:57):
And so paint a picture for me. What does the ministry look like now there on the ground in Uganda now you started with just a, a little tiny school. Mm-Hmm <affirmative> but it’s growing. So, so just paint a picture for me. If someone was to visit your school, what would they see?

Simone Puccinelli (06:13):
Well, right now, if they visited to campus, they would fall find a primary classrooms and bathrooms that were big and nice and spacious for the students. A big, nice area for preparing food, a medical clinic, a library, a two story library. They would also find a high school with science labs and two giant dormitories. So the high school students actually live on campus and, you know, office buildings. And so we really kind of do like a holistic care for our students.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (06:50):
And how many teachers are there

Simone Puccinelli (06:53):
Specifically teachers? I think that’s around 70 to 80.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (06:58):
And so it starts 20 staff all the way from how, how old is the youngest and how, how far up the grades do you go?

Simone Puccinelli (07:06):
So we have three preschool grades. So we have a three year old class, four year old class and five year old class. And then it goes up through the high school, the way it works. It’s almost like an associate’s degree. So we’ll have, we’ll have up to the age of 20, 21 years old.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (07:20):
And so now some kids have gone through your program for, for many years mm-hmm <affirmative> and are you helping to put them into a university and, and get fully educated?

Simone Puccinelli (07:31):
So the past three years or so, we’ve been building a like university fund and putting money aside for that. And we have 21 students in, in college.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (07:41):
Wow. And so this is growing by, by leaps and bounds and has really been through your, your faith and effort and just sharing the vision with people to, to help the, the kids in Uganda. What is it that really motivates you to do all of this for the kids Uganda?

Simone Puccinelli (08:02):
To me and my, why is that? I truly believe that everyone deserves to understand and feel loved. And the, the most important love to feel is Jesus Christ loved. So <affirmative> creating an avenue and that’s what the school is for our child to be able to like for us to reach that child cuz we serve orphan and extremely poor children. And so if the teachers and the staff and myself can be that light of love and make that connect and with someone that has never actually experienced love, cuz you know, most of them like have been abandoned or their parents died. And so they’re outcast in society. And so they really are depleted of that experience. So my why is just for one more child to get to experience loved being

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (08:58):
Loved, which is such a, a great method for evangelism. This is the evangelism podcast. And so we’re always talking about different ways of, of reaching people, but really it comes down to loving people. Mm-Hmm, <affirmative> wanting to show the love of Jesus to people. And have you seen some results in the, the lives of the kids? Are they serving the Lord

Simone Puccinelli (09:21):
<Laugh> yes. I, I have one personal experience of when we got to be there on the ground for two months of seeing this child, having like the depleted look versus the like bright look. And you could just tell all the difference of a child that’s loved and unloved and this child actually ended up passing away around the age of six. So I can’t really give a testimony that they’re like grown and serving the Lord, but there’s so many students that like come back and are just like, you know, so thankful that for their experience at our school and receiving, you know, that guidance. And so yes, I would say they are being transformed

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (10:03):
And your school has really become a light for the entire community. You’re mm-hmm, <affirmative>, you’re impacting more than the, just the children’s lives. You’re also able to have a positive impact on the, the parents, a community. And you really believe that it takes a whole village to raise a child. Tell, tell me what you mean by that.

Simone Puccinelli (10:26):
Yes. So Simone’s kids, we have a, a giving program and we, we call that group the village because we believe it takes a village to raise a child. And so we, we believe that also on, you know, on the ground in Uganda and the fact that we, we need the teachers, if we need the guardians and anyone in, in their lives pouring into their lives to create, you know, a, a good result in that child’s life. And to give them a chance to actually break out a of that poverty cycle and not just give an amount that, you know, helps them survive through this time. We want to give them the tools that they’re gonna need as an adult to find a good spouse, to be a good spouse, to be a good parent, to, you know, be a good employee or, you know, be ethical business person if they start a good job. So we’re are really thinking about their future and what we can put in their lives today to, to help them succeed tomorrow. And but the way people, you know, stateside and around the world can get involved and, and be a part of that impact is, is joining the village for us because

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (11:35):
So if someone is listening right now and they want to be involved and to help you help these children in Uganda, how can they be involved? What they can, they do to be a part,

Simone Puccinelli (11:47):
Well, become a part of the village <laugh> so, you know the village, we really see as true partners and them doing the work. So if someone has a heart for children in need and want to do that work and wanna make that part of their life story, they can join us and becoming a part of the village, giving, you know, a at $25 a month and be supporting the children in this, in this journey they have. And the recurring giving is, is so important because it doesn’t just say like, I’m gonna give to this cause, or I’m gonna give to evangelism. And this one time recurring giving says, I, this is what I want to be a part of my life story. I want my life story to be like, you know, I, I was caring for orphans. That was part of my life journey. A one time gift is good, but recurring gifts say, this is what I want to be a part of my,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (12:53):
Yeah, this is pure religion to care for widows and orphans. And so by caring for these kids, you’re actually doing what is so close to the heart of God. And so I want to encourage you, if you’re listening, go to Simone’s kids.org, mm-hmm <affirmative> S om, O N EES Simone’s kids.org and become a partner join with Simone and helping these children in the nation of Uganda. This is good ground. Our family yeah. Have been good friends for, for many years. And, and I’ve been watching Simone over the years build up this vision and, and it’s just so many amazing to see what God is doing through you. Let, let’s talk a little bit about the, the personal side of mm-hmm <affirmative> being a missionary and being in ministry not only are you helping to run Simone’s kids, right. But you’re also a wife, you’re a mother, right. You have two little children who you’re respons for. And so what is that like balancing, running a ministry, very successful ministry, and also being a wife and a parent.

Simone Puccinelli (14:05):
I believe it’s really about just spending time in prayer and looking at what obedience looks like for your life. And then God giving grace and providing and doing work where you can’t do the work. So because I also suffer with chronic illness. And so sometimes God calls me to rest, or God calls me to be at home with, you know a child. And so it looks like I’m not then being able to like 40 hard hours a week, but then, you know, God supplements, you know, the gifts and the time and multiplies what I do do as it. And then, so like, I don’t have to put in the 40 hours or doesn’t have to look like what the world thinks it needs to look like. And so to me, putting my family first, putting God first, like spending time with him is the most important, not like not putting any idols before him that meaning, you know, my time and my conveniences and then putting my family and then the ministry God takes care of, you know, what, what’s his, and ultimately it’s, it’s his ministry and he’s allowing me graciously to steward it here on this earth.

Simone Puccinelli (15:26):
And so I just, every, every time there’s a life change or maybe I’m sick for a week. We may get like a $10,000 donation and I may have made 30 phone calls and not raised any money. So really God, <laugh> you say, balancing all this, God just keeps taking me back probably where he takes most people of like, do you trust me? Do you trust me? Do you trust me? And is really hard place? You know, I feel like my whole life God wants me to just trust him and have faith in him and his plan. And just through every, you know, like my husband is trying, you know, gone through this, going to med school and we’ve had to, you know, have faith and trust of where he’s gonna be a resident. And if he’s gonna get to the next step and with both children, they were both through adoptions is having to have faith for him to build our family. And just faith for him to take care of the ministry. And yeah, I have to have a lot of faith. <Laugh>

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (16:29):
Well, you’ve taken what God has given you, this, this small vision mm-hmm, <affirmative> of helping a small group of kids and it’s growing and growing and growing. Yeah. And now you have a big vision impacting over a thousand kids every single day in, in Uganda. What’s the, the vision for the future. I know you have some more projects that God’s put it on your heart. What, what do you see happening in the future for Simone’s kids?

Simone Puccinelli (16:57):
Well, we have a campaign going on called big vision, big impact. And so we’re looking at prosing 50 to a hundred acres and using that to build out a state ofthe art high school state, ofthe art vocation in school and taking our current campus, which is about 10 acre, eight to 10 acres, and doubling the size of our primary school. And so being able to have 600 students instead of 300 students at the primary school, and then at the high school, just making it, making it a better experience for the, and being able to, instead of having a big, large dorm for 300 boys to live in, building out maybe homes of 12 boys per home, and getting like fam you know, mentor families in there to take them through the four years of high school, more being able to focus more on discipleship and one on one pouring into their lives. And so we’re looking at that being like a 300, 3.5 million project,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (18:00):
Well, that requires some, some big faith, but I believe God will provide right. And you’ll be able to do all that and, and even more. And I, I really believe that what you’re doing is so significant because these children that you’re training you’re, you’re, you’re training them in the things of God you’re imparting Christian principles into their lives. You’re, you’re speaking life into them in, into a, a situation where often there is poverty, where, where is no hope you’re, you’re bringing hope. Mm-Hmm, <affirmative> in the midst of this, this situation. And I believe that out of your school, God is going to raise up students that will be future leaders in the nation of Uganda that could someday be president of Uganda. We always

Simone Puccinelli (18:47):
Say, we’re raising the next president. That’s our, what, that’s what we speak over our skull. <Laugh>

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (18:53):
Yeah,

Simone Puccinelli (18:53):
We blame

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (18:54):
It. Amen. And, and I think it will happen like, like you’re, you’re giving them top-notch education, helping them mm-hmm <affirmative>, but also giving them the, the spiritual component so that they can be close to God and to have that, that spiritual relationship with God.

Simone Puccinelli (19:10):
And, and one thing like, you know, evangelism, one thing that we really do at the high school is also teach evangelism and, and teach them how to be missionaries. And so there’s teams that go to the prisons, the local prisons, and do skits and pray for them. And then we have teams that go on like a monthly basis to different hospitals and go and pray for all the sick and see healings, and really just kind of try to encourage them to go to even deeper villages. So you know, we live in a remote village, but there is even deeper levels of remote villages where, you know, it’s only a mut huts, you know, there isn’t even access to get power. Like we, we work with families that don’t have electricity or running waters or run room houses, but there’s like places where that they wouldn’t even have access to connect to something like that. You know? So there’s, there’s deeper levels. And, you know, just, you know, when I go over there and then able to like share with we just really encourage them that, you know, they’re local and they’re Ugandan and missionaries from other countries and, and evangelists from other countries are great, but they can make that connection deeper than we can being from that country. If they’re willing to be missionaries to their own country.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (20:30):
I, I really feel like the holy Spirit’s giving me a vision right now of your school being a light and shining light throughout Uganda, but even to the surrounding nations mm-hmm <affirmative> and in areas that God’s gonna raise up, even kids that will be missionaries out of your school, that will go to Southern Sudan, which in many ways is even poor than Uganda is and scarier and, and Rwanda and Congo and Kenya and Tanzania. I mean, there there’s so much that God wants to do in that part of Africa and even up into Northern Africa. So you’ve got South Sudan, but then you’ve got north Sudan, which is mostly Muslim all the way up to Egypt. That entire region desperately needs the gospel. They, they need the hope of Jesus Christ. And, and so I, I just feel like the holy spirit is giving me a vision of your school shining light to that entire region of Africa.

Simone Puccinelli (21:33):
That’s amazing.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (21:35):
And so I

Simone Puccinelli (21:35):
That’s really encouraging.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (21:37):
Amen. So I encourage you Simone, keep up the good work. Thank you. God’s hand is on you and I believe the, your best days are still to come. God has more for you. And so if you’re listening and you want to help the children of Uganda, if you wanna help educate them, you want to help feed them right now, go to Simone’s kids.org. Mm-Hmm, <affirmative> find out more about Simone. You can find out some information about her and about the ministry. See some pictures of the beautiful kids. They’re so beautiful. Yeah. And they’ve got such beautiful face. I mean, they’re, they’re so good looking in, in that part of Uganda. And, and so go to the website, Simone kids.org, and find out how you can be involved. You can support them, even there’s possibilities of going over there on trips, even looking for people who have a heart for teaching to go and teach. And so there’s lots of ways that you can be involved in helping the children in Uganda.

Simone Puccinelli (22:30):
We’re even looking for full-time missionary stuff.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (22:33):
<Laugh> yeah. So

Simone Puccinelli (22:34):
There’s, that’s their call. I won’t call me <laugh>.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (22:37):
All right. Well, thank you so much, Simone, for being on the evangelism podcast. It was great having you here today.

Simone Puccinelli (22:42):
Thank you so much, Daniel.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:00):
India has 1.2 billion people, many who have never heard about Jesus. How can we reach them with the gospel? Deepak was born in India and God has given him a passion for reaching his Homeland for Jesus.

Evangelism Podcast Host (00:18):
Well, Jesus said go into all the world and preach the gospel. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord. Welcome to the evangelism podcast with Dr. Daniel King we’re Daniel interviews, full-time evangelists, pastors, missionaries, and normal everyday Christians to discover how they share their faith, their powerful testimonies and amazing stories that will inspire you to reach people with the good news. And now here’s your host, missionary and evangelist Daniel King.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:54):
Welcome to the evangelism podcast. I’m Daniel King. Today. I have a very special guest with me, Deepak Holkar. And you are from the nation of India?

Deepak Holkar (01:04):
Yes. I’m originally from the nation of India. Call a state called Maharastra from a Sangha district. Yeah.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:11):
And so tell me, how did your family become believers? Well,

Deepak Holkar (01:16):
I heard a story like, you know, a hundred years ago, that was a small missionary from United States, from a small church of 30 to 40 people from Pennsylvania. He came to India, he was a medical doctor, a surgeon to duke, a step of faith. And they sent him to reach the unreached people. The people who are suffering from leprosy, from the tuberculosis, those who are not able to reach. So he came and he shared the love of Jesus Christ with them. And my grandfather was impressed. Like the people, our own people are not able to reach these lepers of people. They used to call untouchable, who is this man? And what kind of love he has. And he found out it’s the love of Jesus Christ. So my grandfather was impressed and he gave his life to Jesus Christ. So that’s how our family came to know Jesus Christ. From that one person who shared the love of Jesus Christ.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:08):
Let’s talk about India. 1.2 billion people. Many of them do not know Jesus. There’s many Muslims, many Hindus and people of other faiths in India. What do you think we need to do in order to reach India for Jesus?

Deepak Holkar (02:27):
I really believe if India has a hope. It’s the gospel of Jesus Christ, simple gospel of Jesus Christ with the power of the holy spirit. If India has to be saved, it is the only through Jesus Christ.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:40):
And how can we as a church, reach people in India.

Deepak Holkar (02:44):
That is right now, I believe the doors are closed, but I believe very soon the doors are going to get open and we have no time to worst. As soon as the door gets open, we got to reach because there are so much hunger that is so places in India that they don’t even know. Jesus Christ. Let me show you one story. I heard from my my family, my grandfather used to take bicycle news to go and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. And in one of the town he was going and they said, I’m here to talk about Jesus Christ. Do you know about Jesus? And the people said, oh, I don’t think so. Anybody by that name lives here in our town. So that back word people are in some of the towns. So it’s time to reach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (03:29):
So you are a student here at the evangelism bootcamp with Christ for all nations in Orlando, Florida. What are some of the things that you’ve been learning while you’ve been here?

Deepak Holkar (03:40):
Well, it will be hard to say in one minute, but one thing be at the feet of Jesus Christ every day, preach the gospel message with the power simple message with the power, with demolition of science and wonder, and all this comes out when you are at the feet of Jesus Christ.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (04:01):
And so how are you staying at the feet of Jesus? And what are some of the things that Jesus has been showing you?

Deepak Holkar (04:10):
He had shown me to be humble myself before him. And it is just amazing. Like, you know how we are spending time with Jesus Christ and I believe the ministers should come out of overflow. And that overflow comes when you spend time with Jesus Christ, it’s in the secret place and not to leave him in the secret place, but to bring him with you wherever you go. And I always say our prayer begins when we leave the closet because it’s not our main and we leave him there, but we bring him into, with us, into the wall to share him with the people,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (04:45):
Brother. I love your heart so much. When we first met you, you called me a few weeks. There says you need to come to Illinois to come minister in my small city that I was in, that you were in, in, in Illinois. And then you said, you know, I’m from India. I really want you to come to India and, and share with people about Jesus and in India. And, and tell me, what is it that really motivates you to be passionate about evangelism?

Deepak Holkar (05:11):
Well, because I got saved like, you know, five, six years back though, born in a Christian family. I really had no, no personal relationship with Jesus. And when I see people, when I see people in the churches on the road, my just my heart, just bones. And I just want to, I just want them to know that Jesus is real and you can know him personally, and you can be saved because as the Bible says, there is no name given under the heaven by which men can be saved. It is the only name of Jesus Christ. And I believe this is our time to reach those people, to share the love of Jesus Christ with them.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:50):
And so how old were you when you came from India to the United States?

Deepak Holkar (05:54):
Well, I think I was around 28, 29.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:59):
So you, you grew up in India and you, and tell me a little bit about the area that you grew up in, what the people are like there.

Deepak Holkar (06:06):
Well I grew up in a small town. We have a church of a hundred years old history of church. And there are a lot of people who are on fire for God. But at the same time, there are a lot of people who don’t really know Jesus Christ personally. So my heart goes out for there. And there are a lot of people are on fire. They’re waiting for you to come and share this gospel message. I know we plan, but because of COVID, it just didn’t work, but I’m believing and I’m praying for it. That what is soon, the doors will be open and there is a great harvest in, I heard of was to rich.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (06:47):
Amen. Well, let’s finish by praying for India, which would you lead us in a prayer for the people of India?

Deepak Holkar (06:55):
Yes. Father in the name of Jesus Christ father. I come before you and I cry out to, for the people of India, for the nation of India, father. It is your one father that no one should perish, but everyone should have eternal life. We ask the doors to be open. We ask your grace your wisdom to lead us father, to reach the unreached, to reach each and every soul in India. Father. We declared that India for Jesus Christ and Jesus for India in Jesus’ name. Amen. Now,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (07:26):
Amen. Well, thank you so much for being on the evangelism podcast. Thank you.

Deepak Holkar (07:29):
Thank you. It’s a pleasure to be with you, sir.
